Power with Control
Oooo...illegal. Gotcha...can't have any exceptions to the state's authority now can we? Why heck..that squirrel coulda caused the newest pandemic.

Or...some power-mad gestapo bureaucrat types with a high school education just did what those types do. ;)

I mean its not like he was harboring a friken Gila monster, right?

Power with Control
Illegal to have a pet squirrel in NY.
Illegal to do soooooo many things. We should maybe focus on those things that have a real potential to harm others. The alleged harm here is that he might normalize the taking of wild animals into your home, I'm sure. But I'm also sure he took great pains to make sure he explained to people how this one came to be living in his house.

The fact that he operated an animal shelter and was in the process of getting the proper permits for Peanut speaks far louder of right and wrong here than some jackbooted animal control officials out to make an example of this case.

this sums it up pretty well.

Yes. Exactly the things the President should be focused on.

Exactly why we had a failed reality tv host as president for 4 years.

This country votes based on memes and couldn't explain policy if their life depended on it.

Also the guy does Onlyfans so I am not sure the GOP would embrace him
You sure are a sad little thing.

At least the TV host and greatest President since Reagan can focus. Your guy was out of it for the last 3 years. "You now, the thing"

It's only illegal if you get caught.
Nahhhh, its still illegal whether caught or not.

All this crap about him working (I've heard that has been going on for over 5 years) to get permits for a rescue facility is crap. If he had the permit he would still only be able to keep the critter for several months and then return them to nature.

There is obviously more to the story, what that may be you can use your imagination.

If you look into it more, regarding the squirrel, it was orphaned when its mother was killed and it was injured. He tried to return it to the wild two or three times and it didnt work. This sort of thing is one of the few allowed reasons to keep a wild animal. And what he was working for was to get it approved as an educational animal.

I had pet cats and dogs over the years, all had rabies vaccine.

Say what you want, but if the little rat was vaccinated, he would still be alive.
No need to kill peanut, two rabies shot good to go. Friend got bat bit last summer two shots good to go. The authorities were *******s plain and simple.

Never heard or read anything about the injury - got a link? Did it need veterinary treatment?

And in 7 years he couldn't get approval? Would it be because his "facility" wasn't accredited/certified?
