My biology teacher at GMHS, Mrs Pembrook, had a squirrel caged in her classroom. Stayed in the classroom during the 9 months of school. She took it home with her during the summer break.

Buddy of mine back in the day had a pet raccoon. He got rid of it after it found his 'stash' and flushed it all down the toilet.

A friend in middle school had a pet squirrel, it had its own room in the bathroom. I visited once. It attacked me, but I figured it smelled cats on me. But I wasn't bit. I never went back. My mom never thought to play Karen and turn it in.

Illegal to do soooooo many things. We should maybe focus on those things that have a real potential to harm others. The alleged harm here is that he might normalize the taking of wild animals into your home, I'm sure. But I'm also sure he took great pains to make sure he explained to people how this one came to be living in his house.

The fact that he operated an animal shelter and was in the process of getting the proper permits for Peanut speaks far louder of right and wrong here than some jackbooted animal control officials out to make an example of this case.

this sums it up pretty well.

Nahhhh, its still illegal whether caught or not.

All this crap about him working (I've heard that has been going on for over 5 years) to get permits for a rescue facility is crap. If he had the permit he would still only be able to keep the critter for several months and then return them to nature.

There is obviously more to the story, what that may be you can use your imagination.
Scuttlebutt has it that when they performed necropsies - you know, to check for C19 - on Rocky and the Trash Panda, neither was physically capable of anal retention.

There, imagination run amok.
