Nancy Pelosi Didn’t Want Tim Walz’ Radically Progressive Position to Get Out: ‘Tone It Down’
The true beliefs of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz are becoming clearer by the day as the highest executive in the Land of 10,000 Lakes finds himself in the national spotlight after being tapped as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate.
In the days since Harris’ decision, old videos and quotes from Walz are appearing at the forefront of public discourse as Americans try to figure out exactly who the governor is.
A recently-resurfaced clip hints how extremely “progressive” Walz is, a position he admits is too radical for some Democrats.
“My record is so pro-choice, Nancy Pelosi asked me if I should tone it down,” Walz said during a 2018 campaign event as he was running for governor. “I stand with Planned Parenthood, and we won’t!”

Like Harris, the folksy Minnesota governor has proposed socializing health insurance and eliminating fossil fuels. Like Harris, Walz wants to effectively decriminalize illegal immigration by signing laws to pay for the health care and tuition of illegals, and allow them to have driver’s licenses. Like Harris, Walz has taken a maximalist position on abortion, signing a bill codifying the procedure as a “fundamental right” into the ninth month, on demand with no questions asked. Walz also signed a bill that let’s children with gender dysphoria be mutilated by doctors.
Aside from all of that, Minnesota has seen a string of scandals and fiscal mismanagement under Walz.
Walz, who set up a snitch line to report Covid rule violators, watched as minority neighborhoods in Minnesota were being burned during the BLM riots. When asked to call in the National Guard, Walz responded, “I will not patronize you as a white man without living [your] lived experiences.”
He speaks just like the average American!
Perhaps none of that will matter because vice presidents rarely matter. Some writers have speculated that Kamala believed Shapiro, a more moderate political figure, would outshine her. Walz, it is true, has never made anyone look bad.
But it’s also clear that the left is hoping voters will ignore the real Tim Walz and fall for the contrived harmless folksy fella of their imagination.

Pelosi said, “I could never understand why anybody would vote for somebody so disrespectful of women, so unpatriotic, who speaks with disdain and negativity about John McCain and George Herbert Walker Bush and our men and women in uniform who’ve given their lives for our country and all the rest. I don’t know why anybody would be for him. But nonetheless, respectful of the fact that they are voters and and they have their right to their opinion. I don’t know, but it’s close because elections are close. Look back at all the elections of recent times they’re close.”
She added, “I can just tell you because I’ve been in a different city every day different yesterday, two cities in one state, Arizona the enthusiasm on the ground is enormous. You know, I’m a former chair of the party. I believe win the election you must own the ground. You must get out the vote. You must call. You must text. You must door knock. You must walk precincts. That’s what we see overwhelmingly.”
