Pergo vs armstrong

I have a Pergo floor

any opinions on which laminate flooring is better? What brand do you have and are you happy with it?

I installed a Pergo floor in my dining room and Kitchen about 8-9 years ago. It has held up very well and was easy to install. Pergo has lots of colors and options and is readily availible. Prices for the better grade of Pergo run around $2.97 per sq ft. This is for the thicker materials with the pad already attached to the back of each board. The material I installed before did not have the pad attached. You had to lay the pad down seperately.
Just Yesteday, I installed a laminate floor by Formica. Looks great. It was on sale at a local flooring outlet in Waldorf and was $1.00 a sq ft cheaper. It saved me $250.00 on this one bedroom/closet. Definately worth the savings.
I have never installed Armstrong so I really don't have an opinion there.
Don't be afraid to look around. Laminates are availible everywhere. Good luck with whatever you choose!

We have Pergo and are overall pretty happy with it. I don't know about Armstrong but it seems that Pergo is always discontinuing their products, so make sure you buy extra in case you need to replace a few planks in the future.

I have both Pergo and Armstrong in my house. I went with the Armstrong about 4 years ago because it was on sale (put it in my hallway) and figured Armstrong has a good reputation with other flooring products and hey, there can't be much difference between laminate floors...

I will NEVER buy anything other than Pergo. The Pergo was WAY easier to install than the Armstrong was. The Armstrong was a PITA. Didn't cut well (very brittle) and didn't lock in place very well. I mean, it locked, but not like Pergo does.

We have Pergo in our Kitchen and Hall, it's very nice and it holds up well with our 80lb golden retriever!

Pergo- 6 years old- indestructable- the kid walked across it in base ball cleats until mom rung his bell- did not hurt it.

Put Armstrong in the kitchen, down through the dinning room and down the hall. Dropped hammers, etc. on it, dogs sliding around on it with their nails, etc. No marks and easy to clean. Damp mop and done. Easy to install.

OK , I have decided on the Pergo for our laminate flooring. Now, my next issue is how to protect the floor when we put the gas heater stove back in the room . It is very heavy so I need someway to protect the floor from the feet on the bottom. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks again for any help you can offer.

you can get a stve pad like they sell for pellet stoves. That would atleast distribute the weight evenly.
