Cute, I was going to get a small pooh holding a balloon with my son's name on the balloon (that way could just add a balloon if we ever had more kids) but instead my friend jokingly drew this happy face flower with heart leaves and it was soo cute, it's now a permanent fixture about the size of a ½ dollar on my right shoulder blade! LOL!!

Agreed. But wouldn't you say that should be an adult decision, not one that a kid can rationally make?

My girlfriend thought it was a good idea to do a homemade tattoo on her arm with her boyfriend's name - she was 16 at the time. Now she's pushing 40 and you can still see the faint "Dale" that runs the length of her forearm.

Another girlfriend got an ear piercing for every guy she slept with. She thought it was cool when she was a 17 year old slut. Now she's a 40 year old wife and mother with piercings all the way up both ears and it's not quite so cool anymore.

That's cool...

My hubby has about 8 or 9 tats and I'd personally like for him to get full sleeves on both arms. Not everybody will agree that they like it, but both of us do, and that's all that matters.

THAT is what being an adult is all about.

:yikes: She otter have known better than that! I guess he left a trail of broken hearts in his wake.

I always wonder what my friend in high school looks like now she's 40 with homemade crosses and some jock's initials tattooed on her arms and hands. I'll have to hook up with her and find out.

Different Dale, unless ours used to be a punk-azz chihuahua living in Lincoln, NE hanging out at the A&W, when he wasn't in jail.

That kid next door is 14 and he got his skroctom (?) (I think that's the eyebrow) pierced and his dad went NUTS and ripped that thing right out of his skin. That kid ended up in the hospital and that dad had to spend the night in jail.

I'll let my kids do whatever they want to their hair during the summer. School time they have to tame it down. I'm fine with self expression, however they also have to learn that, that type of self expression shouldn't be carried over to their "professional" lives, which I consider school to be "professional life training". Not that I have to worry yet, but it's already been discussed. Tattoos are a big NO until they turn 18. Piercings, it will depend. My son got his ear pierced about a year ago, and that lasted less than two months, and he just got tired of taking the thing in and out for football.

I think more or less that is how I will be with my kids. More or less...to know the boundries and to teach them this early on.
