When we first bought our house, the couple we bought it from didn't have any kids... she had put off white wall to wall carpeting throughout the house... even in tha master bath...

Even if I didn't have kids, white carpet in my house would be a nightmare. I live in a house, not a museum.

Same here. I've never been the type to insist on "shoes off at the door". I was ever so glad to see that carpet go.

I was thrilled to see the carpet go as well. Ick. The flooring guys said it looked like new , but I no everything that soaked into it.

I have laminate in my Kitchen, Living Room, Hall way, Bathroom and Bedroom.
They are great, no dents, no scratches, no water marks. Best thing I ever spent money on..
Ah and I have 3 labs (full grown) that live inside.

If it's gotta be vinyl I think your floor guy is right with the star step. At least it looks like wood.

I had Pergo in my old house. I love love LOVED it! It was very tough. Not one scratch; I remember one time, I dropped a grocery bag full of cans and it didn't leave a mark. I'm planning on putting it in the house that I'm currently in as well.

Woody is at least 70 lbs. I think he might scratch it up.

Jinx is 100 lbs and we have laminate in the foyer. It still looks brand new even though it is a few years old. Definitely good stuff!

...floor folks are coming Wednesday to go over refinishing the better of the floors.

Anyone gone through this, cautions? Words of wisdom?

Man, he sold the job in 2 seconds on how excited he is to get his hands on
these floors!
