Can someone explain this to me? What is the purpose? As far as I can tell, you just create a board and stick pictures in it of things that interest you. That doesn't sound like either A) fun; or B) productive.

What am I missing?

That's the general idea, but some of the stuff is pretty cool. Things from cleaner recipes, to wedding ideas, to garden tips and tricks.

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't really surf the web all that much. Most of my internet activity is right on here. I'd never see cute boots or cleaning tips to pin for later. :ohwell:

And holiday stuff. My poor porch is going to have about 800 different pumpkins because I'm going to try every single one I've pinned on pinterest.

I felt the same way at first but once I spent a little time on there I realized that it is a great way to see & learn about new things that interest me in one place instead of googling for info or recipes. I have learned all kinds of handy things using pintrest! If I didn't have the twins to worry about I would be all kinds of inspired by the projects I've come across on pintrest, but alas my daydreaming is often interrupted by the image of the two of them covering the cat in Modge Podge & glitter while spray painting toddler grafitti all over the house:cds:

Pinterest is like google image search..so if you type in boots int he search bar..you can see all of the cute boots ever and pick the ones you like..or type in cleaning tips and you get a bunch of hits to..you CAN installl a toolbar to pin things on your own from outside websites, but I don't know many pople who do that..most use it just like an image search where they can categorize and collect pics and their links

I'm scatterbrained and hate clutter so Pinterest is the perfect place for me to store all the info that would otherwise be a post-it/ripped out magazine page (or, more likely, forgotten). I've gotten so many great recipes from there. Plus my SILs use it to post stuff for each other. We conspire via iPhone group messaging and post ideas for each other on Pinterest.

I use pinterest fairly often for work- when I'm doing research and I find a picture of something relevant I pin it to one of the folders I've set up so I can find the resource later. If you click on the picture you can pull up the webpage it comes from. It helps me find information that might not be easily found again.

I also use it a little for personal stuff, like recipes and dog breed information. It's like a "favorites" with index pictures.

But you JUST DONT UNDERSTAND!!! my recipe board exploded b/c I got inspired to cook here! Without it, I wouldn't know what to do w half the stuff I haul home from the farm market.

And I check family member boards against my Christmas list. Best part is I can make most of what they pin. Yay for my cheapskate family!!! Woohoo.

I use my bookmark bar for that.

OMG I LOVE PINTEREST :bann:

I love the recipes! :cheesy:

I love the hairstyles!

I, I LOVE THE MAKE-UP! :yahoo:

I Love the clothes!

But if I keep making the recipes, I wont be able to fit into the cute clothes I pinned which in turn makes the hair and make-up pointless.

OMG I HATE PINTEREST!!!
