Do you like apples?
I think there's a male version of pinterest but I forgot what it's called.

Ok, I've never gone to Pinterest cuz from what I heard it's just pics of stuff for the ladies - clothes, hair, makeup, recipes, etc...

What's the guys version have?
pics of hot chicks, sports, power tools, road & track, hunting & fishing?

Digital pinboard is probably the best way to describe it. I generally use it for recipes, I can scroll through and see what LOOKS tasty.

it doesn't sound manly. :eyebrow:

 I did a google search and I guess there are a few sites.. Another called Manteresting. But from what I've heard, yes basically all the things you listed are supposed to be on there.

Manly Alternatives to Pinterest

They have names such as Dudepins, Manteresting, PunchPin, Gentlemint and Dartitup, and they claim to target the male demographic not just in content but also in utilization. They've all launched in the past six months, and their inspiration appears to be the skyrocketing popularity of Pinterest, a virtual pinboard where users post, or "pin," images of their favorite things.

Unlike Pinterest, however, these sites have fewer photos of wedding dresses and more pics of beards, babes, guns, Harleys and bottles of whiskey.

Can someone explain this to me? What is the purpose? As far as I can tell, you just create a board and stick pictures in it of things that interest you. That doesn't sound like either A) fun; or B) productive.

What am I missing?

Not reading 7 pages.

It's like your bookmarks, but better. You categorize, have visuals and share ideas. (I have them arranged by holidays, recipes, goofy stuff).

My sister-in-law called her daughters wedding a "pinterest" wedding. (And it was lovely). They used ideas found on Pinterest to pull everything together; friends were able to give her visual input.

I know a couple of people who use it for their at-home crafts kind of business, and it makes good business sense, imho. Easy way to get your product seen.

Well have I got news for you!!! :jet:

There is a chick who tests out pins and tells you if they are :yay: or :boo:

Her slogan is: "####ing up Pinterest pins so you don't have to." :killingme

Her site is pintester.com and her blogs are :roflmao:

Some of the stuff we did in our house for the home tour is pinterest worthy but we just used our creativity, not someone else's.

Ack! She caught me!

Pinterest MUST tell me when any of my FB friends start using it, although I'm not sure why but it came in handy this time.

I'm putting together some recipe things and thought I'd give it a shot. Pretty cool! Now if I can just remember to use it...

Remember to use it AND remember what you've pinned. :buddies:

Am I the only one who still uses Pinterest? I use it all the time. Recipes, decorating ideas, remembering items I want to buy, places I would like to vacation, etc. I don't follow anyone and I don't let anyone follow me. It is just there so that I don't have thousands of print outs all over my house.

Pinterest had a short shelf life with me. I have bookmarks in Firefox with folders for recipes, gift ideas, nail art, travel info, etc. Stuff I want, I keep in an Amazon wishlist.

I use Evernote. Much better for actually storing images and PDF printouts of receipts, owner manuals, interesting web pages, and far easier to download it all to my own computer. I don't trust "the cloud" to save my stuff permanently.
