Pit Bull Attack!!!!!!

Loper

Animal Poor!
I'll give you that. Thanks for the well wishes. I've explained before about how I didn't make her pay. Let me explain one more time. The last actual bite attack occurred on 9/15/05. I was pregnant (daughter delivered on 12/26/05) so ya'll can figure out exactly how many weeks that was, but around 6 months or so. My oldest daughter was nearly killed in a car accident on 8/24/05. She was wheel chair bound with a broken pelvis, broken back and other internal injuries causing her to be non weight bearing. At the time she had a preemie (in the car as well) that was born on 6/24/05 and weighed in under 8 pounds the day of the accident. So basically she was a newborn just home from the hospital.

I was pregnant, taking care of a critically injured daughter, caring for a preemie newborn and working full time. The fact of the matter is I had a lot on my plate and for my own sanity and health of myself and my unborn child I let it drop after months and months of aggrevation.

Lets just say, this time I have a lot on my plate, I'm still recovering from two major surgeries less than 6 weeks ago, but if it kills me, the owner will pay for this time, as well as the last!

I guess I missed reading about everything you were going through at the first attack time! I hope you saved all your bills from the first one and sue her for all of it this time.

Hopefully, AC realizes this time that this owner can't control her dog and it needs to be put down.

I hope your pup recovers quickly!!! Poor thing!

I'm going to be even more realistic. Dogs are pack animals, it is in their instinct to hunt/kill. ANY dog has the potential to attack and kill a smaller, moving target.

My personal opinion is that the dog was not a threat. My Boxer goes after my cat all the time. He's killed a neighborhood cat before. It doesn't make him a suitable case for the gas chamber though.

You're probably right. But the difference isn't between the two dogs, the difference is YOU. You strike me as a more responsible owner, who will prevent the dog from killing other people's pets again.

Update

Sad to report my pup is not doing well today. We were hoping the surgery and drains along with the antibiotics would prevent any abcess from forming. Her neck and chest is very swollen and obviously has abcessed. Were off to the vet this afternoon again. :bawl:

Please keep Marble in your thoughts and prayers. She is such a sweet girl.

Any progress/news hon?

The vet used a needle and drained as much fluid as possible. I was supposed to take her in today to have the drains removed, but since they are still draining a considerable amount of fluid, I have been rescheduled to take her in Monday to have the drains removed.

The vet was pleased so far considering......... Her bruising is beginning to fade a bit and the drains are not producing liquid looking like "tomato soup" which is excellent. That's what we really have to look out for.

She'll continue on her three medications and we'll recheck on Monday and probably remove the drains at that time.

Have I said my vet is the shiznit? No charge for my appointment yesterday, and I can't tell you how greatful I am for that! The vet wrote a very, very nice letter to be used by animal control as well as my court case.

Dr. Meadows, thank you from the bottom of our paws for your wonderful care and compassion! :huggy:

You had us all worried with your last post before the appointment. I am so glad that she is doing well and appears like she'll make a full recovery.

The dog was not ever on a leash. Yard or no yard, the dog is in the wrong.

Cat wasn't on a leash either. I'm sure that cat killed some mice or birds. That's okay though, no one owned the cat or birds. If you choose to allow your pet loose, outside you run the risk of having something happen to it. Yeah, dogs shouldn't be allowed to run loose, but you weren't protecting your property either.

:bs: What a stupid thing to say. She has every right to allow her pets to play in her own yard!! And how do you know if the cat has killed anything?

Not to mention that the birds and mice were almost certainly not invited, therefore were trespassing.

I'm surprised at some of you, getting all worked up over this dog (Bailey's dog, not OP's dog), yet you have no regard for the cat that was killed by said dog.

As for SoMDgirl, glad to hear your pup's on the mend. :yay:
