Any bad treatment of any breed should not be tolerated. Facts are that Pitbulls are unpredictable and the damage they cause is unbelievable. I'm sure that there are Pitbulls that are wonderful pets, but you never know if and when something will trigger them.

No, the fact of the matter is that pitbulls are VERY predictable and unfortunately fall into the hands of stupid people who don't have any respect for breed traits.

Again with the words in my mouth. I never said they were going to replace anything. I said they've taken interest in making them working dogs. :yay:

They are #3 on the Top Dogs bite list. (pounds per square inch) I seen it on the Discovery Channel

#1 - Hihenia(sp) 700lbs or so
#2 - Rotti - 625lbs
#3 - Pitt - 5 something

Responsible pitbull owners realize that they have a potential weapon and take care to keep it under control and not put the dog in situations that could end in disaster. It's the ones who believe that pits aren't aggressive unless taught to be that are the problem.

:yeahthat: Very true.

I'm smart enough to realize that I can't change opinion. I only try to educate. :lmao:

I didn't read this entire thread, it's too long and I have A.D.D.
But... I wanted to share:

I owned a Pit who I loved SO much. He was gentle, sweet, silly, a lover of cats & kids, well-behaved, and never aggressive. He was treated with love and kindness.

One day a neighborhood kid left the gate open and my pup got out.
He was out for about 1 minute tops before I got him inside.

In that time he bit two ladies who were walking down the street. They did nothing to provoke - he just ran up and bit them.

I was shocked and heartbroken. I truely LOVED this dog - he was our baby.
I no longer have him, and will never own another pit.

They can be raised properly and be loving to your family - but... they are very powerful and there is no denying that they can be unpredictable. Any dog may bite - but it's a Pit's strength coupled with that uncertainty that makes them a danger.

And this is exactly what many pit owners refuse to accept. I've seen this exact same thing happen.

I've seen it happen too. Expect the dogs were a pom, doberman and a german shepard.

I dont' deny that, but I still think that pits are stronger and more dangerous.

I was at a friend's house last night with two standard and one mini dachs. The little one chased baby G around all night nipping at him. All G had to do was get up and try to walk to another part of the room. I grew up with a min pin that would try to attack anyone.

I see that a lot with small dogs. Small dogs annoy the crap outta' me.

More dangerous, yes. Stronger, no. I would hate to see what is left of the Pit that attacks my GSD. :coffee:

Pits are overprotective in "most" cases due to breed. Great family dogs but unpredictable around strangers.

I'm sure your GSD is strong, but I'd still put my money on the pit.

So would I, but then we'd be perpetuationg the biggest problem with the breed, wouldn't we?
