BF brought this home from his work (a nursery). He found it near the 'trash plant' pile. It doesn't have a tag, and the foliage doesn't look familiar to me. I *think* I've ruled out clematis, trumpet vine, and wisteria.

Does it look familiar to anyone?

:jameo: Better not be! I can't imagine a nursery would sell poison oak. It's in a pot with a little trellis, so it has to be some kind of vine.

 Maybe what was supposed to be in it died and it's a weed that somehow got into the pot? I've bought stuff before that had weeds in it as well as what I actually paid for.

I was thinking it could have just been a discarded plant pot, and it had a seed blow in, like the little green weed plant thing next to it in the picture

I thought that as well, but you can see it's the main plant in the pot...definitely what was planted in there.

He didn't steal it...it was in the trash pile. I guess he didn't want to ask his boss because his boss wouldn't know what it is.

I'm going to try to find it in the nursery's catalog tonight. I just thought all these super smart people on here would know what it is. :ohwell:

I think I have some of that in my garden, dont know what it is but it looks ok and grows nice. 1st year I though it might be a weed but let it go and now it grows back every year. Pretty little plant

It looks like a version of coral bell to me - something related to Heucherella family of plants is my guess. They have so many variations in the same genus

Hmm. Climbing vine. 3 leaflets, whorled. First impression is Virginian Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) - nope. The Creeper has 5 leaflets, whorled. How about the Creeper's cousin - Boston Ivy (Parthenocissus tricuspidata)?

Reading from my "Guide to Garden Shrubs and Trees" by Norman Taylor:
[re. Boston Ivy] "Leaves: Of two kinds, simple and 3-lobed, from 6-10 inches long, or on young shoots (sometimes on the whole plant) with 3 leaflets, all coarsely toothed.

Boston Ivy and Virginia Creeper both have tendrils for climbing.

Cowgirl, I feel almost embarassed by this and I probably should... I planted the exact same thing about a month ago when I planted all those bulbs, there were two kinds of flowers I planted Columbine and one of those shruby things it has purple on it so I thought it was pretty and bought it (back in January) , when I get a chance, I'll look through my posts and threads because I know I wrote it down somewhere on here what it was... I didn't realize this until I was out checking on my sprouts in the garden and I have THE EXACT same thing, leaves, red stems, points, everything :whack:... I'll get back toyou on this :huggy:

I think that might be it...looks very similar!! I'll have to keep an eye on it while it grows.
