I also want to mention that up until only the last couple of decades, it was socially unacceptable for whites to marry outside of their heritage. Italians married Italians, Irish married Irish, etc. Jews are still encouraged to marry other Jews, especially young men, since the heritage passes down from the mother. If a Jewish man marries a non-Jewish woman, the children are not Jewish. That's very bad in the grandparents' opinions.
