CYBER BULLYING if anyone has any information on or knows who uses the following “User” names please Email me. There are CHAT Rooms and IM Sites that our High School Children are using, and these people are Threatening Students and saying Degrading things. I was Shocked to read some of the things these people were saying, and am Fearful for the Safety of our Children. This is all happening right in our own “Back-Yard”, and we need to identify these culprits and put a STOP to it, before their THREATS turn to Violence. The victims need our help identifying these individuals.

It is pretty simple, as Mikeinsmd said, turn off the friggin computer. I wonder if concernedparent has ever gone into the high school and heard the degrading, threatening and hostile language the kids use toward each other. What are you going to do, prosecute them as well for talking smack? If concernedparent is that concerned about their kid being exposed to the bad parts of our society......homeschool. Then they REALLY will be WELL prepared to face society when they go out into the REAL world. One needs to educate their children about the real world so...."Teach your children well...."

Don't get me wrong, the slime out there on the internet needs to be cleaned up, prosecuted, strung up and flogged.

First of all, IM chat can be restricted - you can set any IM program to only receive IMs from people on a list or to block certain screen names. So it's horseshit to say that some stranger is harrassing a kid via IM.

Second, if this is a chatroom where kids are supposed to be, then there's a moderator. Contact the moderator of the chatroom and complain. They'll either kick the bad guy out of the chatroom OR, for more serious threats, they can run down the poster and get their real identity through their ISP.

If I had to make a wild guess, I'd say the abusers are other high school kids being stupid, not adult predators.

Sorry to let you in on this, But you picked the wrong place to do this. Law enforcement spends months or even years trying to figure out pedophiles user names so I would put too much stock in asking some people in a public forum most of which don't really care.
