I don't believe you. If you understood it, prove it by explaining it to me. :tap:

And please tell Ms. Kain I am not speaking to her. :drama:
You see Starcat made a statement about "most people" and how they would or would not threaten to kill someone. And Ms. Kain said that Starcat dosen't understand "most people" and that this topic is not the place for Starcat to be pulling any crap.

And I think when she say's Missy she means Starcat:confused:

For the record, I really wasnt trying to be an ass! I was just saying, if someone wanted to kill me, I wouldnt think they would warn me first. I could be wrong though.

Lots of good advice here. But it never hurts to get out to the gun range and practice. Then make sure you have some self defense rounds stocked up. I may seem paranoid but I only moved out of PG county 2 years ago. I may have a mild case of PTSS.

No.. That's very good advice. He lives in a tight neighborhood. A house every 40 feet. Honestly he can shoot to kill inside but outside he better be a crack shot!

ok, so I guess I left out a few details.

My dad is an avid fisherman and hunter, he let me borrow one of his 50 shotguns incase someone comes around here trying to cause us harm tonight.

My dad was in the office by himself when this guy called. He was on the phone with a customer and the line beeped. He switched over, and of course when you do that, the number rarely shows up on caller ID. He tried *69, but it didn't work.

He called the phone company, and they said that they will get back to him in a few days, but they can only release the number to the cops, or the owner of the building (i.e. whoever's name the phone bill is in).

We have our guard dog (beagle, lol) on standby just in case. He normally barks at anything, so we should be good.

But the bad thing is that we are right on 235, so no one would even notice anything suspicious, my parents house, maybe, they live down in the shores.

My dad doesn't have any enemy's, he gets along with everybody really well.

Sure me and my wife have some enemys, but no one that would threaten us with death.

In response to starcat, I know that people joke about this #### all of the time, but when someone claimed they saw a gun in a kids backpack they didn't hesitate to shut down 3 schools. This isn't just someone saw something, someone was threatened and was told "i'm going to kill you".

If someone was joking, I will not let them get away with it. Trust you me, I love a good joke, but I'm not sleeping tonight, imagine how I would have felt if I got home today, and this guy couldn't find Thomas, so he settled for my wife and daughter.

I have to take this seriously.

As far as calling the MSP, I think my dad is past that. They promised to drive by tonight, but the guy never said that he was going to do it "tonight".

We don't have alot of info, as the guy was only on the phone for 20 seconds at the max.

But on the other hand, some people who make threats actually carry them out, so it pays to be on the alert.

Exactly, how do you think my dad would feel if he took this as a joke and the guy killed me? He would be out of his mind.

Now there is some info that I tried to get out of my dad.

Not that this matters, but we are trying to profile who it could be that we would know.

He said the guy sounded white, in his mid 40's to early 50's. Now the part that gets me as that everyone knows me as TJ and my dad as Tommy or Tom, but this guy said Thomas, which normally only telemarketers say.

I understand. Just for future reference, MSP is better trained and will do the leg work for your Dad if he choses to go this route.

:scarymovie:

Anyway, seriously... I have not read this entire thread, so pardon if I'm repeating here:
TJ, I would question who has access to your dad's phone and number. Is it publicly listed, or just for internal company/customer use?
Second, what types of people does he deal with in business? (The nature of his job could help here.) Does he deal mostly with inter-company people or does he deal with a variety of folks?
He may get along well with the people he deals with closely, but this guy - if he is serious at all - may have been merely a passing encounter that your dad did not pay much mind to at the time. Think road rage; those that flip out at the simplest things are often the most dangerous.

I understand totally.

My dad is in trucking, he has been since before I was born. He doesn't drive trucks anymore, he does office work, because his knee is blown.

Nobody really knows where he works besides his immediate family. All of his friends know that he works for a trucking company, but not which one.

He deals with alot of people every day. Anytime I try to call him it takes 30 minutes to have a 5 minute conversation because the phone rings off the hook.
