I understand totally.

My dad is in trucking, he has been since before I was born. He doesn't drive trucks anymore, he does office work, because his knee is blown.

Nobody really knows where he works besides his immediate family. All of his friends know that he works for a trucking company, but not which one.

He deals with alot of people every day. Anytime I try to call him it takes 30 minutes to have a 5 minute conversation because the phone rings off the hook.
But how many "trucking companies" are there in the county? Think like a bad guy!

This sounds like something I went through in Florida. I kept getting phone calls. I realised that it was someone who could see me. One of my neighbors. I finally had to tell my husband about it, who was out to sea. He and I felt helpless. I had no friends, and 2 little ones at home. Then my husband told me "go get the fire alarm off the ceiling in the garage (it was not hard wired). Put it by the phone, when this sicko calss, test it, right into the receiver. I had changed our number, but this person probably got it from another neighbor. Anyway, they called, I tested, and the culprit was revealed the next day. A woman across the street developed an earache, a really bad one. The ear was ruptured. I never received the calls again, and I found out she worked for the phone company. This person sounds like they know you. Try to think who showed up, and what did they say. Write it down. Put a fire alarm by the phone, in case he calls again. I am assuming it,s a he, but right now a friend of mine is being harrased by a she. Light up the back and front yard at night. If you don't have one, go get 2 big dogs from the pound. They will bark at strangers more quickly once they settle in. If you can, do video surveilance. Don't be scared, be angry and defiant. This jerk wants you to fear. If it is someone you know, they probably get their jollies hearinf about your worry. They should also hear that you are reporting this to the FBI, because death threats are illegal, and when you find out who it is you will press chrges, and sue. Don't let this pig have any control over you. Have a family meeting and let the kids know what is going on, and only talk about it with you. See if the phone company can find out where the call came from. *69 them if they call again, and report any call to the phone company. This person has decided to try to scare you, but they are the one who should be scared.

I had a problem with a hacker way back in the computer BBS days. I ran a BBS. I called the phone company, they gave me a star code that flags the last call as unlawful at the phone company. They charge $1 for each succesfull trace. I couldn't remember the number so I looked it up. *57. This works on all calls, it can't be blocked. The only way they could get away with this is if they hacked the phone company. So thats star57 after the call.

TJ, you're full of #### and the rest of you are a bunch of suckers.

If someone called and threatened your life, what would you do:

A: Call the police
B: Post on a forum to let a bunch of strangers know

If you chose B, then you are in need of psychiatric care.

I agree with the suggestions about calling the MSP and the
phone company. BTW ... I believe that using the phone to
threaten people might be, in fact, a federal crime due to the
phone being a form of Interstate Commerce.

Plus now there are Homeland Security laws in effect that
may cover the misuse of communications like this. So that
"prankster" could be in mucho hot water!

vrailblonde;

I believe that the poster stated that he DID call the police
(sheriff's department) as well as ask for help here. The poster
stated that the local police told him that there was nothing
that they could/would do.

He asked for help here as to what to do next. Not flaming,
just maybe you missed that part.

I am officially the only sane person left on these forums.

Actually I think I would call the police, pack up a range bag, call a few friends, go do some target practice, apply for a concealed carry permit, (death threats is on reason in Maryland for getting one).

I might actually seek some advice on a forum if I had a few trusted friends there. I might also post a few things to try and get the SOB to come break in if I thought they used the forum. It's hard to say though. I've never recieved a serious death threat before, soI can't say for sure what I would do.
