Bland food can be corrected - if they care enough to take constructive feedback.
The google review that told them to all go to Salsa's and see what true "white people Mexican" food tasted like had me rolling.:killingme
I'll be kind enough to gift them a shaker of chili powder and some cumin. It's a start.

If you’ve ever actually been to Mexico you’d be shocked at how bland the food actually is. They had to send it to Texas to kick it up.

Mystery solved.

And I wouldn't have known if I hadn't taken the "shortcut" through the parking lot - there's NO SIGN anywhere but on the front door marquis, which isn't highly visible from the street.

I can see it, but it was their trucks in the back parking lot that gave it away.

I just figured they were using the lot for themselves. Kinda like all those trucks parked in the ruins of the old Thompson furniture store.

or farther south. I was quite surprised/disappointed at how bland most of the meals were when I first arrived for a few months stay in El Salvador.

I don't either but the snow white hostesses at the door with their Ben Stein-ish, monotone "Hola" really made me consider it.:roflmao:
Sis and tried it this afternoon and were pleasantly surprised. We thought it was good. Their salsa was really good, nice kick to it and thick, not like the watered down stuff at other places. She got the carnitas with the tomatillo sauce with rice and beans. I had the steak burrito without the rice. It was cut in half and one side had the queso sauce and the other had a tomato sauce with shredded cheese. We both brought home leftovers. That being said, the solo lady diner seated next to us ordered the chicken enchilada that was recommended by the waitress. She was very unimpressed and it looked kinda boring. She left the remains.

Tried Tia's - not bad. The ranchero sauce could have used a little more development, but overall OK. A friend had some "diablo" dish and said it was HOT. Margarita was good.
