Police Officers Acquitted

NYPD officers acquitted in groom slaying - Crime & courts - MSNBC.com

The police officers in the groom slaying were acquitted. There is going to be trouble in New York today!

They couldn't play the race card as two of the officers were black.

I was on an earlier train that very night heading back east on Long Island. When we got home and saw the news... the shooting was very close to the Jamaica stop, and some of the bullets hit the LIRR buildings. We came thru just before it happened.

CNN TV says THE JUDGE acquitted them because two of the witnesses had prior criminal convictions and there were holes in other witnesses testimonies.

I can understand warning shots - but 50 rounds?

Justice was not served.

CNN might be a bit biased. Just maybe.

Warning shots? Are you serious? Of course you are, because you don't understand the concept.

You weren't there. You didn't hear the testimony. You did not sit in the same courtroom with the witnesses.

It was the judge's responsibility to make credibility determinations. He did so.

Who the frick do you think you are to be questioning the verdict?

Because, every single verdict ever handed down has been accurate, fair, unbiased and justice has always been served. A judge and/or juries have never gotten anything wrong. :sarcasm:

Of course you'd think the right call was made. You are one of only a handful of people who trust the judicial system.

So O.J. Simpson was truly innocent, right?

Thanks for proving Vrai's point.

So OJ Simpson is truly innocent. Okay. :yay:

I, for one, don't believe every little thing the police, the law and the government says. But, if you do, that's fine.

When they decide to take your guns away citing a spike in crime, you'll say it's for good reason and agree with it, right?

Oh, wait a minute. :ohwell:

We're not talking about several shots fired in self-defense, we're talking about 50 rounds. That's 2 or 3 clips. On an unarmed person for that matter.

I call it a massacre.

Your ignorant ramblings keep getting worse. The information is out there. Read. Learn.

They thought there was a gun, dummy.

First, don't say you have a gun if you don't. Second, when the police tell you to stop, stop. Don't ram a car and reach down as if you are getting your gun.

I call it a massacre.
That's because you don't even know the meaning of the word.

I would have to agree with this but the drama in New York is about to go into overdrive

I'll have to pull up the old articles when I get home. :yay:

I remember them ramming a car, but I don't remember much else, and I am admittiedly(sp?) going off of what CNN is showing. Yes, it's quite possible CNN's biased. I'm sure the news would love to see a massive riot in NYC - they need something to talk about. Because :deadhorse the Democrat Presidential Nomination race and Wesely Snipes does get boring after a while.

That was the testimony...doesn't make it the truth...

This case screams of immature officers (at least the one who fired the most shots) and corruption in them getting off....at least that is my opinion.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Nicole Paultre Bell bolted from the courtroom as a judge acquitted three New York City detectives of all charges Friday in the shooting death of her fiance.

Protesters react Friday to the verdict in the Sean Bell case outside of the Queens County Criminal Courts Building.

1 of 3 "I've got to get out of here," Paultre Bell said.

Justice Arthur Cooperman was announcing the verdict clearing Detectives Michael Oliver and Gescard Isnora of manslaughter, assault and reckless endangerment in the death of Sean Bell.

I've got one question, maybe someone can explain this to me. I'm not trying to be stupid, but if Nicole Paultre Bell was only his fiance, how did she get Sean Bell's last name?

She legally changed her name to Bell after he died
