Any one know what is going on @ a Drayden Road residence. Around 6 Sheriff cars, crime scene tape and walking around back yard. I have the scanner on and I have not heard anything about it.

You won't hear those kinds of calls on the scanner after they are dispatched. Those call are switched over to private channels so that the public can not hear them. You will hear an ambulance respond to it and you will hear them go back into service but everything in the middle you will never hear.Same for car accidents.

Oh, yes they can, if they have their scanner tuned right.

Scanners are digital now so all you need is the freq, which are publicy supplied these days. The old days when dirt was invented you had to buy the crystal for each frequency.

And you are.......... what?

What I do does not matter. I am just saying that those kinds of calls are not broadcasted for everyone in the general public to hear. We relay messages back and forth on private tach channels that only the E.O.C can hear. That is all I am saying.

True dat, but it isn't all hidden from the public like you said.

Court records are public right?

Don't understand what made you come on here with balls blazing:buttkick:

Court records are public info. That is correct. I was just saying that you can't hear everything on the scanner like you used to be able to. You used to be able to hear every call from dispatch until the units cleared the scene. But for protection of the involved the system has changed a bit.

I'm kidding. I'm not police, fire or EMS. I just had someone put it all in my scanner. I hear all the secret stuff. So do about 50% of the people that have scanners.

So there you have it. Without the help of someone doing that for you ,you would not be able to hear everything on a call. Right???

:roflmao: Where did you get that info???? I hear everything. I just don't post about it.

As far as I know there is only one encrypted channel and that is for the Sheriff Narcotics division. The rest can be programmed in.
