... is the real deal now. A lot of drivers from VA told me they're going to come up to Potomac now instead of racing in Saluda.

Greg Gunter has cleaned that place up. Major improvement all around. Everyone I talked to was satisfied with the changes.

They fixed up the rickety old grandstands, fixed up the bathrooms, the control tower and added concrete walls and a pit road and fixed the banking at the top of the corners.

They race every Friday night, gates open at 5 and the racing program begins at 7. If you're looking for something cheap to do with the family, come on by. :howdy:

Potomac Speedway is ok,but I will still go to VMS (Virginia Motor Speedway). It's hard to make it on Friday nights after work.Besides World Of Outlaws Late Models will be at VMS on April 18.Also World Of Outlaws Sprint Cars will be there May 22.Thats hard to beat that kind of a show.I would like to Potomac sometime, been a long time since I have been there.

VMS is in big trouble right now. A lot of the drivers came up from there and one of the photographers I was working with is from Hampton Roads and they all told me that track is in serious financial trouble.

I heard that their DIRT track contract is almost up and it will probably become a paved track next year. I've been to both types of tracks and live by the motto "Dirt's for racin', Asphalt's for gettin' there". Potomac is a world of difference now! The racing was incredible and on time! My hat's off to Greg Gunter. Each year can only bring better things. :dye:

I had a great time on Friday night. It looked like they added lighting in the pits. The drivers and pit crews were happy about that! :yay::yay:

I agree 100% with you! i've been goin to Potomac Speedway for 20 yrs. now and its never looked so good, the improvements Greg and his team have made were done for all of us dirt fans and i think we let him know fri. night how much we like it, there were alot of bodies in the stands even though it was a very cold night. The only time last year there were that many people there was the fireworks show. Other than a few "iffy" calls from the flagman it was a great start to the season and things will only get better. So come on out and see some real racing on fri. nights. We race Mods there check out our website Tony Quade Racing #28 sign the questbook and let us know you were there. See ya next fri. in Budds Creek
