Pow3r Windows

Why do most cars--I can't speak for brand new ones, but why do the rest have for the driver's side window control automatic down....but not automatic up? Is it harder to put your window down than to put it up? Does it take longer? Am I missing something? I am talking about power windows that, when you press the down button in all the way, you can go back to driving without a second thought while your window rolls itself down. Why, then, is it unnecessary to have the same thing when you would like to roll it up? Any insight would be great.

WOW!!!

Deep question.

Hey, how exactly is a rainbow made?
How exactly does the sun set?
How exactly does the posi-trac rear end on a Plymouth work?
It just does!

A bullet is fired horizontally from a gun at 3000 feet in the air the same time one is dropped straight down from 3000 feet.

Which hits the ground first?

You are either trying to be funny with your question or you have absolutely zero common sense. Either way the question does not merit an answer.

A muslim blows himself up at a daycare the exact same time one blows himself up at a bus stop.

Which one gets the 72 virgins?

It is a safety function.
1- It prevents anyone from getting anything stuck in the window while it's on an auto up track.
2- It prevents the window from damaging the motor/mount by trying to push the window up if there's something in the way. It would be tough to have something interfere much with a window lowering.

Its similar to newer cars having a mechanical switch that is designed to operate down if stepped on/leaned on by an infant/dog/whatever leaning out the window. Ditto sunroofs.

My car has both automatic up and down. Same for the moonroof. What kind of car do you have?

My 2000 VW had auto up and down.
Think the auto down feature is to allow rapid cooling of the interior on hot days.
