According to wtop, at 7am, smeco was reporting 100,273 without power. Apparently the outage map went down after that.

We've been out since just before 10 last night. The longest we've ever been out since moving here 9.5 years ago was hurricane Isaac 8 or 9 years ago.

Just did a drive around, and evidently, where I am on Chancellors Run is one of the few areas that does have power. south side of GMR has some power, Macs, BK, and a few other places are open, but mobbed.

Drove from the far end of Flat Iron and turned around at "Road Closed" signs @ Farm. Went up Piney Point to Rt 5 and headed towards GMR. Turned around at Dyson - Rt 5 is flooded from Indian Bridge to GMR. Headed north as far as between Food Lion and Chingville, then turned around. Passable, but large trees on lines in several places and one or two lines in road. I figured I was safer at home!

We live in Mechanicsville and haven't had electricity since 9PM Saturday. Hope we get it back soon because it's getting hot in the house.

Still have power and Internet (Verizon DSL) here in California. Don't see any trees down around our place. Prayers up for those who are still without power and have a bigger cleanup to do than I..

Town Creek is going to be down for a long time. With the help of many chainsaws, we cleared about 7 huge oaks tree that had fallen across the road and taken lines down, all within 1/2 mile of each other. Took a quick drive around, lots and lots of trees down, lots of wires on the ground.


But the traffic lights on 235 at WalMart work....

I'm curious if the power to the Wawa's, Subway, liquor store, etc. at the intersection of Rt. 235 and Rt. 4 is out, or are they just closed.

We're still on generator on Baptist Church Rd, I see a large tree went down over the street with power lines involved. Had to go to work and left wifey with generator instructions in case they get power back up. Life a federal emergency response official...

Still without power on hermanville rd since 6 or 7 last night. Drove down flat iron to help folks with their huge trees down everywhere. With the amount of trees down on lines its going to be awhile before they get it back.

No power since about 8:30 or so last night in St. Clements Shores.. It's hot and some stuff in ther freezer is starting to thaw grrr.
