 Look on the bright side.... for as long as you don't have power, you meter isn't turning and your electric bill will be much lower this month.

:yahoo: great point! Think I could ask them for a discount since the ewre not providing me electric for a few days?

I don't know.....they very likely will find a way and reason for raising the rates after all is well. Which is kinda understandable.

I keep checking the outage map to get some idea of if school is going to be closed tomorrow... the outages count keep going up and down. It's at 12,200 now, but it was 11,200 about an hour ago.

From what I saw (along the roads) they have been working on lines that were down, but there were also places with trees on the line, but they were not yet down. There may come a point where those leaners either fall or have to be taken down - that could cause disruptions in service.
But they really don't have an option, they are triaging the system.

Not on Breton Bay Farm Road it isn't

Power is on in Leonardtown.

So far we've had ZERO power in Leonardtown, by the Middle School, on Medleys Neck Road since 7:30pm Saturday night. Smeco keeps giving the same 'we'll get to it as soon as we can'. Our neighbors across the street from us, three doors up Medley's Neck Road from us and behind us in Hanover Farms all have power. It is just the three houses before you go into Breton Bay Farms and most likely the Farms, have ZERO power. Seems since we are on an 'old' feeder line, we are always last to get fixed. I've heard that crap over a dozen times over the years with nothing done about it. Thank GOD I bought a little generator years ago. It seems like they just forgot about us. I'm so pissed at SMECO right now, I can't even think about the 100 ft hardwood trees down in my back yard. Heard it was a tornado that went through. The twisted tree pics I took sure make it seem like it. Totally unbelievable Smeco takes so long for the price they charge for power

Get a grip! They will get to you when they can. This was a major event and you were not the only one that lost power.

:yeahthat: I'm ON Medley's Neck Road and still am without power but crews are out there working their butts off to repair the extensive damage along the road, which I've seen first hand. Hats off to them and the extremely long hours they are putting in. :yay:

We are close to you so you may be next! Unless a certain person has called them a dozen times a day complaining

Just got power back. :yahoo:

:yay: Good deal. Now you can get that shower once the tank gets hot.

Shoot, I'm 2 blocks off 235 in the busiest part of California, and I figure another 2 days before I get power. Thank Gawd for the generator.

Went by my friends house over in Town Creek and she has a poplar "through" her house. It came through the living room ceiling, hall ceiling and bathroom and took out an exterior wall.

What street? I know Rose was mentioning someone she knew also had a tree thru the house over here.

We just got it about 20 minutes ago! A/C is running and my faucets work! :yahoo:
I did not expect it until Friday!

I was hoping but since they took so long I figured they would knock off for tonight and finish tomorrow morning. I was getting pissed because someone decided to burn their storm debris tonight and filled the neighborhood with thick noxious smoke. With no AC the windows were open and the smoke was coming right in.
