I'm so sorry to hear about this. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. As tough as it may be at times like this, try to remain strong and think positive. I've seen many miracles take place when children have been involved.

Just got off the phone. Prognosis is good. All the tubes have been removed. He is lightly sedated, but has been awake off and on. He is kinda out of it, but was coherent long enough to name the kid who pushed him over the stair railing.

Wow lets hope this person who did this to him will be arrested even if its another kid, they need to start having zero tollerance when it comes to something as awful as this.

When she told me he named the little bugger, I said, he needs to tell his brother (who is still at camp) so he can beat the snot outta him.

I am sure the perp feels bad about it and it was an accident, but he still needs a butt kicking.

a few years back, one of our nephews managed to light himself on fire while playing with his gocart, seems he had gas on his shirt when the engine backfired and it lit him up.
his friends rolled him around then stuck him in the shower under cold running water until the rescue got to him.
the flew him out.
he had burned his lungs and had to have oxygen to breath, they kept him in a drug induced coma for over a week just so he would not feel what he had done.
for the next couple months, a nurse would come to the house and sand, yes sand the burns that were all over him..

he is totally recovered from that with no noticeable scarring.

kids are tough.

I'm so happy to read that he was given a good prognosis. I can't believe another kid at camp caused this to happen. That kid's parents will be mortified to find out what he did. Your nephew sounds like a tough little boy!
