I received a warning notice from the City of Baltimore Parking Fine Division regarding a citation issued on August 16, 2004 at 9:20PM for "NO STOPPING/PARKING STADIUM EVENT CAMDEN." My tag # is listed on this warning notice, and they want me to pay a $77 fine.

The problem is: I haven't been to Baltimore City in over 2 years. There is a number to call , and I have been trying throughout the day to get through, and the line is busy.

How can I prove that I wasn't there, (or that my car wasn't there)? Also, when a ticket is issued, isn't a description of the vehicle written down?

Anyone who has been involved in a situation like this before, or anyone who might work for this division could really help me out here. TIA!

Well the only way they could get your tag number is if the car was accually there. Think back to when you were last there. You might have gotten a ticket and it flew off or someone pulled it off without you knowing about it..

You wont be able to beat it unless you have absolute proof your viehicle was not there. Highly unlikely you can.. Just My 2 cents

Same thing happened to me from Baltimore many years ago. They put the tag number in wrong. I was able to prove mine because I was at work the day of the alleged illegal parking. Have them recheck the written tag numer on the issued ticket.

Gotta go to court with some whitness that can verify where your car was when the ticket was written. Cop could have written down the wrong tag number.

Same thing happened to me (ticket was issued from Baltimore, no less...) a few years back.

I called, and called, and got no answer----so I wrote a letter, included a copy of my timecard with a note from my supervisor stating that I was at work that day, and gave them all my contact information should they have any questions.

I received a letter two weeks later stating that there had been a mix up, and that the parking ticket had been voided and removed from my record.

Good luck!

I know my car wasn't there, and the officer must have transposed a number, so I ended up with this. I finally got through to the division, and after listening to a very long menu of options, I am now on hold listening to lovely elevator music. I was also informed that there are 26 calls ahead of me. Their hours are 8:30-4:30. Will I sit here until 4:30, and then be disconnected LOL?! OK! now only 24 calls ahead of me...progress!

Sounds like at 4:29 there will be 1 left and 4:30 will come when you get disconnected. Waiting for the outcome

Wenchy - it was me. I drove to the Eastern Shore, stole your car, drove it into Baltimore for the Oakland game, got the traffic ticket, threw it outta the window, drove the car back to your house, and then returned to my home.

Hope you don't mind. By the way, *you* are paying the ticket, right? I ain't got no money....

I had a similar situation oer a "going through a red light" ticket. I called and ranted to the woman on the other end, after about 15 mins of me saying "Are you sure there is no way you can help me" and "I am sure you have the power to help me here" and so on she said "Ok, one time thing only, i'm going to take it out of the system"

Just be strong.

The only timecard I could show would be my postings here LOL! Then they would accuse me of having a laptop and posting from Camden Yards...

Years ago same thing happened, and it was from Baltimore I believe. Officer had written down the wrong tag number. Isn't there a number to call on the document?

I'll split the ticket wif you, AND mix you a few drinks at the next pajama party. Anyone else want to attend?

Oh..... and sorry about the music. And tell me this.... why does practically ALL the music pumped over the phone lines as you're waiting ALWAYS sounds like music that you'd find in a really bad porn movie?

You'd want that music back if you had to listen to Comcast advertisements over and over and over again while waiting for tech support.

I got a parking ticket in Baltimore once (Hmmm anyone else see a trend here?) I WAS illegally parked and they wrote the tag number down wrong. They made an M instead of a W. I looked at it, looked again, just to made sure it was really wrong and threw it in the trash.

I had visions about some little old lady out in Western Maryland somewhere trying to prove she were no where near Baltimore. I felt sorry for this imaginary woman, but what could I do?
