Damn, it hurts to be a Redskins fan.

No, it doesn't. Dan Snyder constantly and consistently picks the route he knows; promotion and marketing, over something he doesn't know, how to build an NFL team. I've grown to accept this. It just is. Choosing Robert was a moron move on many levels but, it fit the promotion and marketing urges Snyder has.

The carnage has success's as well along the way but, that is more a product of the exclusivity of the NFL where even the worst teams can get some great players, win some games and do OK, here and there but, firing Norv in season, the fiasco with Beano Cook (not Beano...I can't remember the guys name!), hiring Marty who said he'd never work for him, firing him when they started coming together, Spurrier, Vinny, Gibbs II, Portis, the endless trading of picks, Fat Albert, the whole parade of awful FA signings, the Shanahan Family show, Donovan, trading the farm for Robert. Playing him now in this third year with the unsettled question of a guy you gave up so much for still not knowing if he is the guy or not even though, clearly, he isn't. Even IF he plays well, the kid simply lacks basic skills that good quarterbacks have, never mind the elite ones.

We are who we thought we were.

Jack Kent Cooke was one of the great owners of all time because he told his guys "Win or you're fired and I'll find someone who will." That's not warm and fuzzy. That's not easy on coaches or players. However, that is what it takes when you are the owner and don't know jack about the game but, want to win. Other teams, other owners who know the game, that's another route. For a promotion and marketing guy, the ONE skill set NO NFL team needs, who wants to play with his toy, this is what we are all about.

So, I've come to be able to be entertained by Snyder's Folly. It's that or don't watch.

no you could not hear the booing because empty seats cant talk..........but we are so interested in having a black QB right??? right????

again, please take your racist BS and hang it in your azz.

Balck or white has nothing to do with this. The redskins are the only team in the NFL to have a black quarter back who won a superbowl. They dont need to prove anything with respect to that. As for RGIII, we would be talking about andrew luck if they could have fiugured out how to trade for that first pick, but they couldn't so we got the #2 that year

the bolded says it all. We were a bad team the last couple years and now we are a bad team with a first year coach. What else should you expect? I didn't put the skins at better than .500 even when i looked at the schedule with max optimism. This is a bad team in a rebuilding year, somehitng like the 12th out of 15 years, but a rebuilding year none the less

Ok, but, the issue here is RGIII and whether or not he is THE guy. He's not. Even if he plays well, he's gonna get hurt again and sooner rather than later. The issue is what he cost in context of why we are still a mess.

We've been 'rebuilding' since Snyder took over. NO consistency because the plan, from the boss, is not about consistency. It is about marketing and promotion and that means 'FLASH!" "SIZZLE!"
I means BIG deals, exciting signings, NEW AND IMPROVED coach, Look here! But, wait! There is more!!!

There is no rebuilding. This is what we are, what we do.

I'm just happy today that my sucky team beat the crap out of your sucky team, at fed-up field. Even nicer. I kept on waiting for the Bucs to make some stupid mistakes in the 2nd half to let your guys back in it, but even with the ridiculous penalties against TB, they shut youse guys down. So I was wrong in my prediction that the Bucs would come up some new way to lose at the end

Doug Williams? An average QB at best. I still remember his 4th down spike vs Pittsburgh in Tampa to give up the game, when the refs, yard markers, and scoreboards all said 4th down. Heck, Trent Dilfer had a better record here in Tampa than Williams for the same time span.

I stand corrected. The redskins were the first. :bigwhoop:
The point stands that race has nothing to do with this decision, money does....

Yup. If Dan Snyder thought he needed a gay Navajo Rush Limbaugh fan, he'd trade 3 firsts, a second and what's left of his dignity if it meant one more t shirt sold.

Good enough. Money, only money.

Does not really fit, does it? I think Snyder knows a bit about money - profits, NFL head honchos, advertising, bottom line, exposure - what do you think? He is a multi-billionaire for some reasons, right?

Today's press conference didn't sound too promising. Bobby boy needs to grow up, shut up and grow a set according to his coach. This week should be interesting in Redskinsland.

Oh, I was just gonna comment on that. That was AWFUL.

Alienate Entire Team and cut the feet out from supporters 101.

Snyder knows ALL about that. However, the Washington Redskins need promotion like Washington DC needs another lobbyist. What he does NOT know is how to build a team to WIN the Super Bowl.

Truth. And I hope he does not realize that fact.

Screw the DC area. The country would be way better off with the center of govt far away from the the sick DC center. Current history has proved that. Time, 200+ years - has proved that.

It really looked like the O line was throwing the game. One play where RG was sacked I saw Shawn Lauvao just walking around on the field while the play was still in full progress. Then they showed the replay, and the guy he was supposed to be blocking was the guy that sacked RG. There was no protection all night. Something tells me the team doesn't want RG on the field.

I considered that. Those are two different goals, winning games and winning the Superbowl and those are two different processes, in my view.

This baseball post season, because it was so good, got conversations going about the difference between being a really good regular season team and a World Series winning team. The Senators are much like the old Atlanta Braves; very well built to play well, consistently, over the long haul of 162 games but, in so doing trading off the ability to play better for a couple of weeks. The Giants, on the other hand, and the Royals for that matter, are GOOD teams that have the sort of makeup to be able to play better in the post season at the risk of losing some games in the regular season that could cost them making the playoffs.

The NFL is, yes, about having a chance but, with the format, 2 wild cards, visiting teams winning in the playoffs, the old formula of regular season consistency and home field advantage are meaningless.

So, the difference? In my view, less stars, more depth and better coaching. The teams that win it, New England, the Giants, the Seahawks, the Steelers, Raven's, this current era, are DEEP teams.
Look at Baltimore. They destroyed that team to pay Flacco and what happened? Also ran. They are still good but, not great and not a Superbowl caliber team proving that QB is not everything. Brady is only great with a solid line and solid defense. New England has rebounded this season because all those young guys have been coached and are responding and coming together.
Tomlin, Carrol, Coughlin, Belichick, all really good head coaches who, it seems, the players are accountable to.

None of those teams trade all those pics to get a quarterback long on potential and short on accomplishments and polish. None.

We just go about things so that we're thin everywhere, no one is accountable to the head coach, not even a Mike Shanahan, and we're all about sizzle and not the steak. Winning games isn't the goal. Winning the Super bowl is. The NFC South very well may have a 7-9 team win the division. And, if the Saint's catch fire, if they make it that far, coaching and depth mean they have a real shot.

So, you gotta have a solid QB, yes, but, you also have to have depth on your lines and skill people.

6 sacks, 3 TOs, 1 defensive TD. Evans had 209 yards and 2TDs on offense.

Bucs Defense came to play, and the offense did enough to win. Plain and simple.

Tampa.....BAY!

I know one thing, I had about 20 Skins fans at my house for the game. It was a great feeling watching them implode all game while I was yelling "Tampa....BAY".

Yup. I was surprised, and happy. The 'skins O line is very offensive, for sure, even worse than the Bucs, and the six sacks were fun to watch. Evans had a monster game - barring injury, there is no reason why he should not be Rookie of the Year, IMHO.
