Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14:6

Of course it is, and that way (following the Bible) seems right to you, that's why you try to follow it. My point is that every religion proclaims itself as the one true way. Showing verses in the Bible that say to follow the Bible is great if you believe the Bible but useless if you don't.bcp said::fixed:
Jesus is the way for all. I believe that it is spelled out rather plainly in the bible.

...So that people who are interested in Religious things may read, discuss, ponder and celebrate - while those who are not interested in Religious things have an brain-numbingly simple method of ignoring it.
Here's an idea - why don't you go over to the Horses forum and try to convince them that raising and riding horses is a big fat waste of time.
Do you feel like I am telling you that you are wasting your time? I am not. This forum is not limited to Bible believing Christians. As a Christian I often find myself in conversations with people who don't believe that the Bible is God's word, in which case Biblical discussions take on a different tone. Showing them verses in the Bible is never a waste of time but you can't expect them to give it the authority that you do either.Toxick said:I'm not entirely sure - but I think that's why this was posted in the Religious forums...

brendar buhl said:that would fall under the "discuss" catagory that you listed above...maybe not. Maybe it's easier to just tell people to go away.
Toxick said:Maybe I misread your intention. Sorry about that. You sounded like you had a chip on your shoulder, and I felt like plucking it off.

Proverbs is a great book but sometimes it tricky to apply. Know what I mean?
Dondi said:You do have a point, brendar.
The above quote from Proverbs is speaking of the fact that man wants to go his way rather than the Lord's way, and more often than not, it leads to destruction.
We really have two choices: To obey God and do what is right. Or to disobey God and do wrong.
Dondi said:Since Proverbs was written to the Jews, by King Solomon no less, I would have to say that it is referring to the God of the Jews. The Jews know what God they serve, so this verse is not really referring to choosing a religion. It is about choosing what is morally right and wrong. A man left to his/her devices, without regard to God's commandments, are going the way that see fit, but will be their ruin, for they heeded not the commands of God for them.
One of my favorites But I like all of Exodus - almost as good as Lamentations.forestal said:Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)
I'm trying to follow your train of thought.Nucklesack said:Not to pick points with you, but the Religion Forums states :
Why would you have to believe in order to have a discussion?
And how is the Religion forum different than the Political ones?
