PSA: Dropping off kids at school

Peace
1. Have kids ready when you pull up.
2. DO NOT put their book bag in the trunk. This pisses people off. There has to be pleanty of room in the car for a stinkin' bag.
3. You do not need to get out and kiss them goodbye etc. Should they need assistance getting items out of the car, kindly pull into a space and proceed.
4. You do not have to wait until you are first in line to let your kid out. They can walk a few yards.

Here's the desired/necessary plan:
Pull up. Kid gets out as you say good bye etc. They shut the door. You pull off. End of story. You do it everyday. It should be routine and you should have it down by now. If the kid is the problem, deal with it. I cannot stand to be held up every stinkin' day because your family can't get it together. Find a new plan if you cannot adhere to the rules. TIA.

Maybe you should get there a few minutes earlier.

My daughter rides the bus, but on rare circumstances where I end up dropping her off, I wait until I SEE her go into the school. It may take a few extra seconds, but at least I know she made it inside the building safely. :yay:

We don't have a bus here. When I drop them, all the kids are waiting out front with their teachers. The whole school and staff are there. Some parents just can't get the routine down and it holds up the whole line.

Remember the aunt who dropped her nephew off, only to see him shot by the sniper...

I always wait to make sure whoever I drop off wherever gets where they're supposed to be.

AMEN!

My schools drop off area is in a semi-circle with the walkway leading up to the door at the center. People used to constantly either stop there instead of pulling forward or wait until they could get up there to let their kid out. This year there's staff directing people to pull forward. Also had parents that did not see the "no parking" signs there. :banghead:

There's a no parking sign at the student drop off? What are parents supposed to do? Kick the kid out the door at a slow roll?

That's not a problem. Where they are going is about 15' away if that.
The problem is stupid crap like kid in the car, backpack in the trunk. EVERYDAY. Stuff like that. If you saw it everyday like I do it would drive you insane!!!!

Yes actually. The first few weeks of school they have the plan posted. If you can't follow the plan, park and walk you kid into the school. No problem there. We are talking about a drive thru area.

When I drove my daughter to school, she had to get her back pack out of the trunk. Get over yourself.
