RottnCop wants a pair.
My little one has developed the strongest, most limber calves in St mary's county using those things.
We went to dinner last week, she went to potty and took her DS along with her, and heelied back to the table, but didn't stop quite right, SCHWOOP right flat on her back, the DS never left her hands she just looked up at me from on her back and laughed out loud. I was afraid to laugh until she did, but then i couldn't stop laughing. I still giggle when i remember see her looking around to make sure no one saw her. Everyone did...

The last few times that I've been to a public store (grocery store, BRU, etc), there are kids going up and down the aisles as fast as they can with these dumb shoes. I keep waiting for one of them to bust their azz on the floor, or running into someone and knocking them down (especially an elderly person). I think there's a time and place for those types of things, and a public place like that shouldn't be one of them. How many times have you seen a kid in roller skates at a grocery store?

Of course, I blame the parents because each time I've seen this happen, the parents aren't paying any attention at all as to what their kids are doing.

I most certainly do.:yay:
The Heely's are a no because my kiddo is less than graceful and likes to wear skirts.. :nono: Like I want to have her falling down and baring her tail end to the world in public.
She can have the MP3 player on her head when we walk through the store. She can wear dressy clothes for no reason. She can put streaks of color in her hair.
I'm not a nazi when it comes to parenting.. I just don't think those shoes are appropriate for anything but skating and they aren't marketed for just skating.

Just curious...is your av a reference to beezlebub (as in the devil) since it also included the 666?

IMO, Heelys shouldn't be allowed in Church, restaurants, malls, grocery stores, etc. Its a shame that places have to post signs that roller shoes are not allowed because of the lack of some people's common sense...its a liablity issue.

I am so very blessed
Are kids that wear Heeley's so lazy that they can't pick up their own feet to walk?

It was a biach finding size 11 but I am wearing my Heely's today. They are cool but you have to be careful on stairs. They have really cut down my time going to and from the copy machine. :yay:

Do they work on carpet? My office has carpet all the way to the copy machine. Can I borrow yours to see if they'll work first before getting my own?

Kid ran me over the other night while out to dinner flying around with these on. I had three glasses of diet coke in my hand. The thought crossed my mind a second too late that I should have "dropped" at few on his head.

:faint: Now according to the splat of grey i received, (which i assume was suppose to be red) i lack parenting skills because my daughter has heelies and people are laughing at me because of it :killingme

I think a security analyst as a mom and a cop as a dad having succcessfully raised 4 kids none of which are in jail and doing quite well actually, as 3 of the 4 are already home/property owners, and the 4th is only just turned 18, and a 5th honor student still in the nest...would dispute a lack of parenting skills  Oh my goodness...she's willy-nilly heel-ie-ing as we speak. Watch out everyone....her eventual driving skills may be compromised.

she knows the rules. yes there safety are rules. but i haven't been able to find a safety course for heelies yet. or her...shudder...... SKATEBOARD efforts. :shocking:

Get real. The max speed in those things is a half a step faster than power walking. As in all things, one bad  doesn't spoil the whole bunch

I agree. There was a man in the grocery store a couple of weeks ago with three kids with all of them wearing them. He wasn't watching the kids. One fell and the others were racing all over the place. It was dangerous for the other shoppers.

I don't think you lack parenting skills. I think you lack common sense for allowing your child to wear them in a restaurant. What are the safety rules you have? Heeling with a DS in a restaurant is okay?

Until you have tried them...don't judge. My 10 y/o wears them, and the ground clearance is so minute it's unreal. She certainly can't "whiz" around, her heels or toes would catch on the ground, nor does she have the desire to "whiz". She uses the same common sense rules she would use if she were WALKING in the restaurant. I don't allow her to run to the potty in a restaurant, nor is she allowed to even go anywhere alone at all. Hence, she heelies at the same speed i walk. And I'm not going to run through a parking lot where cars are moving. Neither does she. She sticks with me.

For goodness sake, since some parents are irresponsible (and that stands true in every situation) don't penalize those parents who DO keep a hawks eye on their kids and whose Kids DO use the common sense god gave them.

operative words here, no parent was supervising. That's not because they had heelies on. Why blame The heelies?? Put the blame where it lies.

We all make choices. I choose to allow my daughter the fun of wearing heelies. She's 10 and i manage where she goes and how she goes there, and she chooses to wear her heelies. Until she does something that i consider dangerous, she will continue to wear them. That doesn't make me an irresponsible parent, nor do i lack common sense for making that choice.

I don't think I understand your point...are you saying its ok for kids to heely wherever/whenever they want so long as a parent is watching them?

As a mere courtesy to other people kids shouldn't using their heelys in restaurants, grocery stores, malls, etc. The rule of thumb should be if you wouldn't/couldn't wear roller skates/blades then you shouldn't be wearing heelys either.

I didn't read her posts that way... I read it to say that she raised her 10 year old with enough sense to use heelies appropriately and that not all parents have done the same fine job with their kids...
