We've had cat 1 for 13 years. Brushed maybe 5 or 10 times. Can't stand it.
We've had cat 2 for 3(?) years. Never brushed. No way in heck am I trying, he doesn't like to be held long enough to do it.

Gidget and Kiki love to be brushed, they'll let me do it for as long as my arms hold out. Claudia hates it, but she'll let me use the sticky roller on her. Kiki will actually let me dustbuster her - she's pretty mellow.

All of ours LOVE to be brushed except Funky Brewster who doesn't even like to be looked at unless you have treats. I brush with a flea comb because it pulls off the dead hair well. I typically only brush regularly at the change of seasons when they are shedding bad. MK got us a Roomba, best invention EVER!

Really? I'm afraid things would get sucked up that I forgot or didn't see.

I have hardwood floors and would sweep every 2-3 days. In each room I'd sweep up enough hair to make another kitten and I still didn't feel good walking around barefoot. We run it daily when we leave and you can't feel a trace of grit/dirt on the floors. The collection tray is fairly small and has to be emptied at least once daily. The opening is fairly narrow so it sucks up dirt, hair, kitty litter and hasn't gotten anything else.

I might have to look into one as well. We have hardwood also.

I was skeptical because of the size and it just seemed too good to be true. It is really awesome. It has an edger brush that gets along the edges as it goes down the wall. I could not possibly sweep as well as this thing picks up. I like the fact that it sucks up the stuff that falls in the cracks of the floor that is impossible to sweep. An hour of my life every few days returned. It makes mopping better too. There is not nearly as much grit in the bottom of the mop bucket when I'm done.

A good holistic food. Wellness, Chicken Soup, Spot's Stew. I've been using Spot's Stew (sold at Petco) for a few months. I use the Indoor Chicken formula. It's $18.99 for a six pound bag. I need to check with Clippers to see if it's cheaper there. Petco is not always the cheapest place.

Since I switched them over to holistic foods a few years ago, they rarely barf at all.

I can second the Wellness recommendation. My cats love it.

Until last night... Yates has allergies and while I've found a wet Wellness food that works for him, I haven't been home enough for a dry food trial yet (I have to be home for the next 48 hours in a row before I'll give him a new food), so I gave all of the cats his prescription dry food (Royal Canin) when we went away this weekend. I found a hairball from someone this morning.

Holistic foods are awesome. I need to get the other stuff out of my house. Fortunately, I'll be able to do a trial of some Wellness dry food on him next week.

Biscuit would faint. He doesn't like "strange" things.

Good lord. I didn't think of that. Jake would definitely stroke out. Have you ever seen a Cheesie get under an end table? Actually, the question should have been have you ever HEARD a Chessie get under an end table. We found out he has deep rooted fears the hard way. The first 4th of July was quite a doozie. Now I know why he was at the pound. Guess they don't make for good hunting dogs if they are scared of any type of loud noise.
