yeah yeah
No its more like, some people dont care about having papers on a animal- because irregardless they are willing to give them a loving home- whatever comes. Not being snotty- just stating the truth. And just because they were pets doesnt mean that they couldnt have bread. It happens all the time. Either way- these little guys need a home- and I hope loving people get to them.

It's not so much about the papers, WC. It's the fact that there are certain criteria people should follow when breeding dogs and they don't.

Did she say she was breeding them anywhere? I might have missed that. like I said- it wasnt that I was being snotty. I am just saying come what may. Either way- they need a forever home.

Lots of nice homeless dogs need families too. I just don't condone breeding dogs strictly for profit, as happens a lot around here, like dogs are a cash crop, and easy money. That's my opinion and i'm sticking to it. Not being snotty either, just stating an opinion.

Well, whoever it was that gave the karma has a very good point.

I agree with that if I had planned on backyard breeding just to make money, I have kennel built to seperate the two during her time, however I accidently put them back togther to soon (and yes they are getting fixed now). so no I do not believe I am a backyard breeder. Backyard Breeders make sure there dogs get pregent with the purpose to make money. When I found out that mine was due to have babies, I immediatly went took her to the vet and spoke to her about what I needed to do for my female to have healthy puppies, I also spoke to a reputable Lab breeder about what to expect (since this was my first litter) and what I needed to get for her and the puppies. I have been on the phone with this breeder the entire way as to make sure these puppies have the best of everything and that I have done everything right. I am also not charging an arm and leg for them, just enough that if someone is willing to pay they are going to make a good home for them.

I just skimmed thru this thread, but where did the thought come from that this person is a backyard breeder? This could have been an accidental litter? Right?

Exactly

Oh ok, I didn’t either.

CMC, I would say it doesn’t matter. If I was looking for a puppy, I’d just go find one, but I think it is more so contributing to a huge problem. Right now the shelters are jammed packed with pets awaiting adoption. There aren’t enough foster homes for pets at all, so why breed in the backyard when there are so many pets that need a home?

When Molly was rescued from under my deck, I couldn’t find ANYONE to take her. They said IF I dropped her off, and she didn’t warm up within 3-5 days, she would be euthanized. It took almost 3 weeks for her to come to me and well over a month before she would walk across the room without edging the walls. Saying this makes me feel bad, because I cannot imagine NOT having Molly now. I never thought I’d get so attached to a cat like this, but even now, after months she still ONLY comes to me, nobody else.

I'd imagine being toss for dead has affected her trust in humans. Lucky for her, she picked the right house and the fact nobody likes my cooking which ended up just to the side of the house in the wooded area for her to feed off of.

I agree with you 100%, this is also why I have asked everyone who wants one that if for any reason they ever want to get rid of my puppies they bring it back to me. I would keep mit myself before I would ever let it go to a shelter. Not to mention I go with my gut instinct, I would just let anyone with enough money buy one of my puppies..

i would imagine this post, where "papers don't matter" would tell one that one or the other of the parents (or both) were either;
1) Purchased as PETS on a limited registration and not SUPPOSE to be bred SO...they needed to be bred simply for a little profit
2) Unknown parentage in the first place, and happen to look like Labbies - SO...they needed to be bred simply for a little profit
or
3) THEIR parents were bred according to the above listed choices......
Just my humble opinion of course.
PS i don't give red.

You are correct, I purchased both my labs from a breeder in Calvert but with intention of never breeding them, just to have as family members... but since it did accidently happen, I know better than to give them away for free and what could happen...

I am glad you are getting your two spayed and neutered. They do it really early now. You could get the pups spayed/neutered before you sent them out to their new homes so there won't be anymore "accidents". The pups are really cute and I wish you luck.
