Catt, I asked a simple question and had done some research. No need for that kind of response. Apology not accepted from her cause she does it to everyone!

I was sincere...and the apology was sincere too.
Like a gift, it was given freely, and you have the choice to accept it or not.
You decided not to accept it..so be it...you choice, not mine.
I posted the info you asked for..hope it was helpful.
Good luck with your dog.:howdy:

You do realize this is the DOG forum, don't you? No wonder she was so rude to you! You deserve it! The nerve of you, asking an honest question about your cat in the dog forum!

She did not say it was about her cat, she just wanted to know where the next rabies clinic was in St. Marys ...and was not able to look it up online....

Really...where do you say that?

I never said cat or dog. Just asked a simple question about the next rabies clinic because my cat needs to be vacinnated. Ink, I realize you have good intentions, but you need to change your "bedside" manner. You are doing more harm than good, IMO, because of your attitude. With that, I let it go and accept your apology; however, I'd probably go somewhere else if I needed help with wildlife.

My perspective is that to treat the skin, you need to be able to access it and allow for medication to be put there. St Marys Veterinary does not offer grooming services anymore and that is where we go. Upon calling for an appointment,we were told that he should come in for his rabies - at which point we will also be charged for the visit, and an exam fee,etc..and then will have to come back for any skin issues as they will need him to have a complete shave down in oder to do a skin scrape/meds. So - it makes more sense to have him groomed first - then one visit does skin issues, check up,etc. So again - the question is not what to do - but WHERE TO GO?

Having a pet is no different than having a child. They take time, lots of money and love. If you are not prepared to treat your pet with the same level of care you would insist your child were to receive than you should not have a pet.

If an office visit and additional exam fees are that costly for you, then you are not a qualified parent for a pet or a child.JMO.

I don't know Tiger. I have never understood when people say that. Kids are on a whole different level than pets for me. Don't get me wrong, I would do anything for my pets, but I can't imagine it hurting the same if something happened to them as it would if it happened to my kids.

Pets are more like children than we would like to think. Just in reading the responses I thought of several different scenarios with my children and compared them to my animals. There are striking similarities.:killingme

Of course to me kids are way more important than a pet. So to me kids come first and pets second. I just had visions though of the dog waking me up in the morning, following me around and begging for treats. Then I thought of my kids waking me up in the morning, following me around and begging for treats.

Then I laughed out loud , really hard for about five minutes.

Then I thought about people who have pets but do not have kids or maybe their kids grew up and moved away and their pets were their replacement kids.

Then I laughed even harder. If we were all smart we would just have pet's as they are so much easier to please.

OK I don't have kids.... so my dogs are my kids. Heck just the other day I got out of the shower and opened the door to find "one" of my dogs sitting there with that "OH SH*T LOOK" on his face. That was not the only thing on his face!! There was lots of "blue stuff"??????? As I stood there wondering what it was.... it wasn't until I glanced down the hallway and into my other bedroom that I realized what that "blue stuff" really was. :jet::faint: It was FINGER PAINT!!!!! :jameo: And it was all over!! The walls, the carpet, dog beds, my bed, dresser, curtains and even my other dogs!!! I have no clue where he found it but he had a blast chewing a hole in the small bottle and slinging it all over gods creation in less than 20 mins. OOOOHHHHHHH was I pissed....:cussing: the last thing I wanted to do was clean up finger paint all over the upstairs! :banghead: I do wish I had taken pic's of that... and also thought..... man this must be what having a child is like also. So hats off to all the "Real Parents" out there!!! :yay:
