Sweetie, I guarantee you I was raised to be a good little lockstep-housewife, barefoot & pregnant, and miserable, and if I hadn't radically altered the patterns into which I was born, I would have turned out to be exactly that. (And given the pattern, I'd've been dead by age 35.)

I most certainly wasn't raised by the type of radical feminists you describe -- hell, I wasn't raised by feminists at all -- and I did not have access to any such people. And I most certainly was not raised to be gay. There's no such thing as raising someone to be gay.

Orientation is like handedness. No one really knows why some people turn out to be left handed or ambidextrous, but they do. It's neither good nor bad. It just is.

I don't pretend to know why I'm gay. I do know I didn't choose it, and I fought it for the first 15 years of my adult life. I wasn't a healthy woman until I accepted it.

First, welcome to the forums. I'm glad that you are here.
Thank you -- so am I. I'm enjoying these fora.

In response to your flaunting question, I am curious why you have announced that you are gay?
In my posts I've mentioned my mate, KJ. Others discuss their husbands and wives, their boyfriends and girlfriends -- and we all recently congratulated Lauren on her marriage. Do you find my mentioning KJ to be different from others mentioning their spouses?

Hessian brought up the subject with this thread. I chose to respond, and in doing so, I couldn't very well explain how I know the things I'd be writing without making my orientation known.

It seems rather odd and in all honesty it looks like flaunting.
Okay. That's how you see it. I'd like to know why, when, as I've said, others discuss their spouses. IMO, it's nowhere near "flaunting."

If you were to come to my office, you'd see a photo of my beloved on my desk. Would you consider that flaunting?

You've been reading the forums for a while...who here is gay? (besides you?) Who is bi-sexual and who is completely hetero?
I get your point, Kain. Do you get mine?
