Rant of the Day

It annoys me when someone tells you about some misfortune that happened to them, and you say, "I'm sorry" and they respond, "Why are you sorry? It's not your fault."

I'm not even nice about it anymore - I reply, "I didn't say I apologize. I said I was sorry." And in some cases I even think, "Now I'm glad you're having a bad day because you probably deserve it, durhard."

I feel you pain and have wanted to respond in turn: Okay, you're right. I didn't mean it and I'm actually glad it happened to you. :jet:

I prefer "Look on the bright side, it could have been worse." If they ask how it could possibly be worse, I tell them "Well, it could have happened to ME."

At that point, I feel I would turn casually indifferent and simply say, "You're right, it's not my problem." And walk away.

And there you go. I feel as though some people truly just want to stay in their own ####. So let them. Not your problem.

Oh.... I know it's not my fault, but I'm so used to apologizing that it's hard to break the habit.
