I just talk to myself all day. And to the TV. And the toaster. Frequently the vacuum cleaner.

I talk to Gretel, then respond as her. We're out walking and I'm all, "Go potty, let's go poopin' puppy!" Okay, lady, I just have to find a spot.... "Good girl, good poopies!" I should get a yummy snack for such a good poopy!



But it makes my neighbors laugh, so what the heck.

How do people not have friends???

I don't have friends and it's my choice. I don't want any, honestly. My husband says I'll regret it once he's dead and the boys are gone but I'm kind of looking forward to not dealing with anyone else's drama, rants, complaints, etc.

I live a pretty solitary life, have for many years. On good terms with the neighbors, but there are times I don't see or talk with them for weeks. But if anyone needs a hand, I'm right there.

Same with quite a few forumites here. The only person I could actually call a close friend I lost back in August over TDS.

I’ve got a handful mostly I’ve known for at least 20 years or more one going all the way back to high school. It’s enough.

I found out in my 20s that a lot of the people I hung out with weren’t headed in a direction I wanted to go. It was pretty easy to just back out and stick to a handful of friends, that I knew were sane, decent and trustworthy.
