Go to the same page and look where the arm is pointing,"robot bases"
neat site!
I saw that, it appears that the tank base has the brains from a computer controller. Check out the electrical kit section. Lots of neat stuff there. There is a bug kit for under $10, Lots of projects

A guy that I work with is really into R/C boats. They are very fast 45mph+. He bought the first few and then he built his own.

He has an exact replica of the Miss Budweiser hydroplane and it runs around 45 mph on the water and is fully remote controlled.

He buys some of the parts at Doug's Hobby Shop in Hollywood. Other parts and engines he buys over the internet and on eBay.

They are cool!

Well I have most everything on the way. I ordered a big tank thats over 2 feet long and shoots BB's as the base. The arm I will really have to modify, it is controlled by a wired controller now, so I figure I get a 6 channel radio kit and I should be able to tap into it. After considering mounting options I am going to make it so I can take everything off... so I can play with the tank alone.... Also I am going to see just how far the arm will reach down, if the tanks gets bound up I figure the arm could push or pull it free.

Budget??

What kind of budget are you taking about trying to maintain? It sounds like you are going for a pretty sophisticated project?

My only advice is to check everything out and put together a build list before buying the first component. This may be all ready too late. But, you need to make sure that all the components will work with one another and that you buy a radio that will control everything you intend. You might be looking at an 8 to even higher channel radio. These get pricey. Check out:

They have anything you need for RC. I’ve never been too impressed with Doug’s Hobby when it comes to buying a kit or radio. They just don’t have the array that you can find at the on-line vendors. Doug’s is fine though when it comes to buying the fuel, batteries or other items that are needed on a regular basis.

Well I'm just kinda tinkering as I go. I have the tank and arm ordered. THe tank is ready to run, I still have to put the arm together the convert it to work with a radio.

I found a RC Battle Tank Contest in VA!!
Only bad thing is that it's the same day as my Family Re-union, I don't think they would like me skipping that to go play with toys.

COOL! I added that one to my favorites, also.
Look like it would be a fun event to go too. Apparently they had some last year in Charles County. I always miss the good stuff

Well I got my tank and robot arm yesterday.... I broke the tank after about ten seconds. I tried to shoot the gun and the first BB got jammed... So me being me I had to take it apart to fix it. I had to remove everything from the bottom up just to get the gun out. Well After being careful not to break or loose anything I got it apart, holding the remote controlled bb shooter in my hand, looking at the jammed BB. So once again I still had to take more apart. SO I undid the screws on the gun, trying to be careful in case there was a spring... well there was. I had BB gun parts shoot all over. I managed to get it back together and then found one part so I still have to work on it some more.
Good news is that I assembled the robot arm in a few hours and that thing is neat. Now all I have to do is get a 5 channel controller to make it wireless, then attach to the top of my tank, which will be easier without the gun and top turret section.
So now I'm thinking the BB gun is not going to be put back on the tank, if I can get it to work again I might make a booby trap in my room or just make a mounted BB gun somewhere..... hmmm maybe somewhere on my truck

"Honest officer, I did NOT shoot the car that was doing 25 in a 55 in front of me."

Make a shell of a 50 cal., mount it on the tank turret, mount that on the roof of your truck and then power it and tie the controls to the steering wheel. Add an aming recitcle to the top of the wheel, and wherever the reticle is pointed :BAM!: :yay:

I have considered this option... Just think you always see vans with PVC tubes for storage on their roof.... Me I see Giant Potato Cannon :yay:

Or the trucks w/ rod holders on the front bumper. Anti-tailgater Mortar Tubes.
