Don't take this personal jp2854 but while I fully understand the benefits of having a personal dog sitter - you have no right to make a blanket statement that all Kennel's only take pets out once a day. Maybe you had a bad experience with your last Kennel - but, that doesn't give you the right to make that statement. I can make a statement that Pet Sitter's will go through all your personal belongings while watching your pet - would that be fair. Geeeeeez...
When I was managing a kennel down in FL we had the dogs out a MINIMUM of 3X a day. It isn't in any kennels interest to do less than that. You want to minimize the amount of mess you need to clean every day, and if they are pooping and peeing outside it is SO much easier. MOST if not all kennels do a thorough cleaning of each enclosure daily, do spot cleanings in the interim, and a full sanitize of every run whenever dogs leave/switch runs.
When you have poo smeared all over everything it creates a lot of unecessary work just from a worker / business standpoint, not to mention the smell and health issues that come with.
I personally cannot use a pet sitter unless my dogs already know the person. They have to be able to come and go freely, after all....
