Retirees, what do you do all day?

Alright, I ran across this thread looking to see if anyone has mentioned "SMECO."

More specifically, collecting the SMECO rebate on a deceased person. I just finished the process, got the unclaimed property, blah blah blah and my father died in 2020. It was a long process, in many ways. I ended up being one of those people who got 2 checks back from SMECO (apparently not common) and had to drive to the bank to deposit them today, hence the reason for my search.

Anyway, retirement. My father died the day after I officially stopped working and was burning up leave to my retirement date, so cleaning his belongings out of the house, paperwork, etc., kept me busy for MONTHS. My father was a bit of a horder so that was brutal. After that, I cleaned every one of my closets 3 times (at least), painted, repaired, cleaned, reorganized, and helped others do the same (who were not physically able). I also cleared more of the wooded area on our property while my husband stood there with his hands on his hips telling me I should think about getting a job, but since I have zero desire to enter back into any related feild that resembles anything I did as a career that leaves me, most likely, working for somebody with purple hair and an eyebrow piercing. :ohwell:

Hopefully this housing inspection goes well because helping them move in will keep me busy but I do struggle with the same feelings.
:huggy:
