Riding tomorrow?

Well...I ended up taking a short ride yesterday and another short one today. My riding buddy came down sick...had to ride solo. ;-(

I was watching CBS Sunday Morning this morning. They featured a guy who is an avid skier and bike rider. He says if the ride is less than 1000 miles, it's not worth getting suited up for.

Oh, BTW, he's 100 years old.

At that age getting dressed is probably the hardest part. Good for him though.

By the way. I thought the point of side zip boots was you didn't have to mess with the laces. On my new ones this ain't the case. I do like them though.

rode around in shorts all day today.

Just around town, out for coffee at 6am, took kid to pals, out for groceries, out to get beer. And then 2 hours on the YZ getting muddy.

in short pants??

Rode the flathead over to a bud's house today; he has a nice 60s panhead...but he has had many flatheads as well. So I sez: "Well..it's running ..but not that great. I'm always messing with the mixture screw on the Linkert carb..more rich.. more lean..constantly fiddling with it."

He looks at me like I'm from Mars and sez: "So?..that's how they run". He listened to it idle and through a couple throttle bumps and pronounced it quite fit.

The days are blending together.. I THINK I rode a little bit yesterday, then went to the office today for a little bit on the bike.

Daughter called at 3:00 wanted to know if I could go for a ride, so looking at the thermostat I strip the heated gear out of the jacket and head to Solomons to pick her up. Little chilly, but not too bad..

Picked her up, rode to the house for her to see her little brother, some supper then a ride to Point Look-Out then back to Solomons.

Did ok until the sun went down, then I was regretting the removal of the heated gear. It was downright COLD in the dark. BUT the answer to cold and dark is FRICTION.. so you go REALLY REALLY fast, hoping the friction will warm you up.. I don't think it worked, but I still felt a lot better!
