right place, right time

So, we've all been on the road before, saw somebody do something assinine, and wondered "why is there never a cop when you need one?" Well, I just thought I'd share a feel-good kind of story with everybody.

Friday afternoon, heading north on 235, just before San Souci. I'm in the right lane, doing about 49 in a 45 zone. So is everybody else, because in the center lane there is an unmarked cop doing 49, and of course nobody is going to pass him. I glance in my mirror just in time to see a small SUV (maybe a Kia?) pass me in the shoulder at high speed. Goes past me, past the next car ahead of me, then jerks back into the right lane, cutting off that next car really badly. For unknown reasons, he then sticks his middle finger out the window. Oh yeah - that finger is being waved right in front of the cop's face!

About that time, he finally realized that big blue Crown Vic was a cop. The arm disappeared, then re-appeared sheepishly waving - maybe he wanted to play it like he was only waving all along? It didn't help. Cop pulled in behind him and hit the lights. :killingme

I'd love to know what agency (county, state) pulled him over, so as to give some credit. But, unmarked car. Made me laugh out loud!

:lmao: I wish I'd seen that.
To balance things out, though, I saw a St Marys Deputy heading S. on 235 yesterday. Left lane, don't know how fast, but looked about normal. There was a little car right on his bumper! I couldn't believe he didn't give that idiot a ticket. Maybe he was escorting his wife to work or something.

I saw a guy in a big ol' pick 'em up 4x4 doing that on 64 in VA. The cop finally slid over and let the guy pass, slid back in behind him and pulled him over.

This morning I saw an older gentelman stop in the south bound lanes of 301, put his car in reverse and drive a good 300 feet back to the center turn lane he apparently missed. I guess his car didn't come with the Uturn at the next turn lane option so he only did what he had to do.

I watched someone do that at the foot of Somolons bridge on the Calvert side. Missed the right hand exit. Stopped ON the bridge beyond the North bound Solomons Exit, and attempted to make a left. I was afraid that the guy was having a heart attack though when I got on my horn. He proceded across the bridge, and pulled over to the right at the end. I didn't want to watch him try to pull THAT U-turn.

:eyebrow: I don't know which is more BS - that it really was you that I saw, or that somebody only got a warning after that performance!

Then again, maybe you knew the cop or something, and this whole thread can be more fodder for DickHead to rant and rave about those terrible police. He has been fairly quiet lately. :knockwood:

It was a county car. The detective that pulled him over didn't give him a citation, the guy had some issues going on that day. Sometimes good people do bad things, and this was one of those days.

Perfect timing for him..and freed up the rolling 49MPH roadblock.
Might be State police in Crown Vic?

Bottom line: A Crown Vic with a spotlight and White man with aviator sunglasses is usually indicative of an "unmarked" car :lmao:

No. Are you trying to say that there is only one unmarked MSP car in St. Mary's?
