Right-Wing Bloggers Try To Smear First Lady

"Proving that when it comes to attacking the First Lady, the right-wing media adhere to no standards of common decency, conservative bloggers this week have embraced a sleazy and unsubstantiated report from the National Enquirer that raises questions about Michelle Obama’s drinking habits.

Pajamas Media, Powerline, The Lonely Conservative, and Gateway Pundit are among the far-right sites that have been peddling the National Enquirer’s hate story, which attacks the First Lady as a spoiled and arrogant shopaholic with expensive taste in alcohol.

London’s notoriously unreliable (and Obama-hating) Daily Mail first put the National Enquirer story in play, quoting the tabloid’s unnamed sources who denounced the First Lady’s “out-of-control” and “disgusting” behavior. Bloggers have linked approvingly to the Daily Mail article, effectively hyping the National Enquirer’s lurid brand of check-out aisle gossip.

What’s telling is that unlike previously misguided attacks that centered around Michelle Obama’s advocacy work to reduce childhood obesity, the vicious and oddly personal posts this week about the First Lady have nothing to do with policy. It's just the right-wing advertising its unapologetic contempt for the president’s wife."

I don't understand why Lefties are so defensive of Michelle Obama's spendy shopoholism or that she likes to swill good booze. Don't we all like to get hammered on good stuff rather than Mad Dog? And if we all had unlimited funds to impulse buy ourselves something silly and outrageous, wouldn't we do it? Why is it an "attack" to applaud the president's wife for taking full advantage of her position and the benefits it entails?

Those right-wingers are just jealous that Republican First Ladies aren't smart enough to have fun and enjoy their situation while they have it.

yeah, and lefties NEVER go on a venomous attack of a conservative, like calling him/her racist just for having a different view...Don't like it when we bark back?...then you'll never survive our bite...it's actually becoming quite empowering to see just how much you lefties fear us...why should we stop now?

:yeahthat: Leave Moochelle alone. She'll be gone from DC soon enough. Well, not really soon enough, but soon.

I think these Leftist bloggers have a point. After all, if any one group knows how to best mock and pointlessly and erroneously attack its opponents it's the Left. They are the masters and the right has to accept that it will never be as skilled in this area.

Yet they provide no proof that the story is WRONG, just attack the journalists that are reporting it.

So basically, every word of it is TRUE, but - we don't like that you brought it up, cuz it's not nice. We would never do that to you.

So basically....if I'm a conservative & create a blog I can be called "right-wing media"??? Wow...didn't know it was that easy to get media credentials! Is that the best the demoncrats can do..pick out some obscure bloggers and try to create a dust-up about attacks on the First Lady?

From the Left's perspective - yep. That's how they roll.

Fortunately, the Right doesn't need to go that far - we have elected officials saying the Tea Party can go straight to hell.
