Rockfish Charter Was Awesome!

Left the Charter dock at 6:00 a.m. with Capt. Shea on Shea-D Lady. Fished straight out from the mouh to about the center of the shipping channel. Didn't even get all the lines in the water before the first 2 were hooked up. 5 guys on the boat & each of us caught 2-3 fish, all keepers. 1 guy didn't understand the cocept of "reel Fast so we can throw back the smaller ones". I caught a 32" (2-3 minute reel time) and threw it back in hopes of a larger fish. 5-10 minutes later the same rod went down & mr. slow reeler took 10 minutes to reel in a 30" that we had to keep since he was so damn slow. Largest fish for the day was 37", smallest was the 30". Kept our 5 (plus 1 for the mate). Done stowing lines by 8:15, eating breakfast at Captain's Table by 9:15. Had horrible service and crummy buffet food, cooked to order looked much better.

Can't praise the Bernie & Joe (mate) highly enough, had great trip!

Sounds like you had a great time huntr. I haven't been charter fishing in years, and I've only been a few times. But it is always a great time.

Charter Boats are so much fun! If you're fishing for Rock don't forget to wash the Mycobacteriosis off your hands.
