My understanding is that same-sex marriage is a federal law, which Roe never was - it was a SCOTUS decision regarding the right to privacy. Feel free to correct me (not you cultprogs - you tards don't know sh*t about **** so butt out).
The Republicans lose me hard when they start meddling in people's private lives. I get kicking Roe back to the states, but how will they do that with marriage? If some state decides nah, what happens to all the married gays and lesbians in that state?
This is how the GOP lost so many voters - getting involved in chit that's none of their damn business. They need to focus on things that affect ALL Americans, not things that affect NO Americans.
They are trying to pass a law protecting same sex marriages, my question would be.. would a priest declining to perform a service be breaking the law, and subject to arrest? I mean, this would never happen, but a Muslim or Jewish clergy? (Have to understand they are tolerant of Muslims, depend on Jewish votes so their war is only against Christians).
They aren't so much protecting gay marriages as much as they are forcing their morals and beliefs on us through passing laws.
Lastly, when the government (any, not just US) passes a law, that means they now have the control to dictate through law what you canand cannot do, and by the use of force make you align with them, and once the door is open, can change the law again and again.
My take, there should be NO law, or ANY government control in marriages. Why does the government require a license to marry anyone?
I don't care if Rick marries George, or William FitzPatrick marries Patrick FitzWilliam.. or if Stan marries a rock, and neither should the government. They have no business being in the marriage business.
