Only monthly costs I have with mine is for Netflix and Hulu+. I also have Amazon Prime but that is an annual cost. As far as your HBOGo, you will lose that once you drop cable or Direct or Dish TV. At least I did since it requests who your cable/satellite provider is. HGTV is available or was available thru Play-On (One-Time Cost). But reading last week that CBS and Showtime may break from the rest and provide streaming options for those that have cut the cable.

We love the Roku 3 and 2. Have not missed much of anything and still get a lot of programming. Spouse has already watched the entire series of Lost and now working on Grey's Anatomy, etc. Once you are signed up with a channel that all they ask for unless I assume one of two things; 1) You reset the Roku to Factory Settings which wipes out the memory. or 2) There is a major upgrade (Have never had one) which causes a factory reset. Hope this answers some of the questions.

Thanks! Super helpful :buddies:

As far as the HBOgo, I use my best friend's account. She gets a decent discount on it. And netflix, my brother and I share an account. That's why I said I'll always have access to these accounts even if I were to drop cable.

I will definitely look into the Play-On channel, but knowing the Hulu+ is a monthly fee, and other channels like Play-On are monthly helps a lot! :yay: slowly understanding what kind of channels I have access too. I'm just afraid of dropping cable, then only having the options of binge-watching seasons of old shows noone watches anymore.

We use Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon - BUT only as inexpensive backup. Last night we tried to watch "The Good Wife" season opener on the DVR only to watch the pilot for Madam Secretary - because the games went overtime (as they usually do during football season).

The problem was, Netflix didn't carry it at all, Hulu only up till last season and On Demand didn't have it at all. Apparently CBS isn't one of the networks they can do.

So we paid Amazon two bucks to watch it rather than miss it.

I'd love to cut the cable, but the offerings still suck. I want live sports, all the major networks and all the major cable networks (minus the premium ones).

The day we can get what we want is the day I make the call. I don't know why we don't watch everything over the Internet.
