Ron Paul on Glen Beck tonight ....

He's got my vote.

I cannot stand this Huckabee dude. He's unelectable. He appeals to the extreme right, but electing him in the primaries is ensuring the Democrats take the White House (which is why the media's hyping him up). He's got a lot of dirt, and I'm sure more's coming.

Yup...

Yeah He looked pretty good tonight

...I'm liking him more and more. His lack of 'polish' is nice as he has none of that greasy, slick, 'you know I'm BS'ing you but I am good at' it thing.

Beck has gotten nasty grams from some folks claiming he is a traitor and should be killed and who said, apparently, they are Paul supporters and Beck asked him about it and Paul's response was refreshing; 'why are you asking me about it?'

I like that he doesn't try to convince you he has all the answers. I like when he said he didn't know who Johnny Sutton was. I liked when he said oil drilling would be fine if it is also OK with the state where the drilling is going on.

Paul is a threat to the extra-constitutional house of cards we've built in this country the last 20 years or so and it's nice to hear a national voice reminding us how government is supposed to work.

Huckabee certainly does not appeal to the extreme right. Huckabee is a liberal in many areas, immigration, defense to name just two. He surged because he is not afraid to embrace and defend his Christianity. I admire him for that, but I would not vote for him because he is so neo-liberal.

Paul's response was refreshing; 'why are you asking me about it?'

I don't find that refreshing at all. You're either a leader or you're not. A leader would have replied, "Well, Glen, I'm sorry about that. I appreciate that folks feel so strongly about my candidacy, but there's no excuse for threats and ugly behavior. I urge my supporters to conduct themselves in a more mature and appropriate manner, and let's get the message out in a positive fashion."

And if he was feeling particularly brave, he could add, "After all, we're not Democrats here."

...that's the politicians answer; "Why Glenn, I care sooo much...that's TERRIBLE..."

As opposed to 'Do you honestly expect me to respond to every kook, nut job and psycho that comes along?'

I disagree because these are HIS supporters who are making him look like a freakshow. Not that he doesn't do a fine job on his own, which is probably why the kooks are in his corner.

Regardless, like I said, you're either a leader or you're not. And Ron Paul is no leader. He won't even influence his own supporters - how does he plan on influencing Congress?

...how many letters do you think public figures get every week from nuts claiming to represent everyone from Ron Paul to Hillary Clinton to Ronald Reagan to Jesus Christ?

Maybe he's not a leader. Was Clinton a leader? W? I think they have both done tremendous damage to the fabric of this nation because neither one of them plays by any rules other than their own desires and inflated sense of self.

To me, Reagan was our last true leader; someone strong enough to not only make his case for what he wanted to do but who also knew his own and the offices limits. Since him, we've slid every more into this globalist first leadership that has turned us upside down as a people.

It's nice to hear someone on the national stage say; "You can't do that!" instead of the endless "We can do ANYTHING!"

I'll spell it out...

Uh, yes. We may not agree with Clinton's methods or agenda, but he was in fact a leader. And W is most definitely a leader. I'm surprised you'd say that.

...obviously, both Bubba and Dubya are 'leaders' the point being that being a 'leader' is all well and good if the leader is leading to the good of the nation. Did the two lead the nation well? Not at all in my view. They are both catastrophes, prisoners of their own egos and perceptions of their 'leadership'.

So, a lesser light perhaps? Perhaps someone who may well be comfortable within the confines and constraints of the office and the intentions of it as spelled out in the documents that authorize and direct the function of the executive?

Yes, we are in love, as a nation, with our out-sized personalities. If that means we can't escape that, then, we shall have Hillary as she is, would you agree, because she is, by far, the 'biggest' personality with the biggest ego?

If not, if the biggest personality and ego doesn't win this time, then what, second biggest?

Usually that derogatory term is reserved for 9/11 conspiracy theory supporters, a derivitive of "Truthers" or Truth movement.

Gotcha...

...that's not good. See, when Glenn brought that up, I saw him responding to that question like the 'what do you say about Ron Paul supporters issuing me death threats?' question, a 'what do you want from me' response.

In any event, I have a serious problem if David Duke and the quack brigades like him.

Guess I need to find out why.
