Sanctuary states

No illegals, we don't need sanctuary states for them.
We should do all we can to see that all immigration is legal immigration. We should allow no illegals in this country and we should remove all of them that are here now. I am certain there are many illegals here now who really sought asylum. They ran from their country because of their situations there. At first that wasn't so bad, but once a few were allowed it became a tidal wave of illegals and the only way to stop it is to stop it completely.
To HELL with immigration its IS time to STOP IT!

No No tell them to stay in their country and make it right just like our Forefathers did.. We dont need them here

Right, but our forefathers were fighting an oppressor that was an ocean away, and we got help from France and Spain. It's pretty tough to overthrow your own government - ask the Democrats. Also look at Cuba and other modern day rebellions: typically what happens is the new government is just as bad if not worse than the old one.

I love immigrants and I'm proud of our melting pot. But they need to freaking melt, not form their own little enclaves and bring their third world mentality, along with crime and drugs and poverty. The ones sitting in NYC hotels, shitting in the stairwell and bitching about the free food they're provided - GTF out.

how did st marys become a sanctuary? i don't remember a vote on this.

It is the Sheriff that changed the Detention Center policy to be non-responsive to ICE detainer requests. Which defacto made St. Mary's County a sanctuary county. The County Commissioners were not part of this decision, out of the loop they were.

The Sheriff, Steven A. Hall, has never made a public statement regarding the refusal of ICE detainer requests, he left his assistant Sheriff to make an ambiguous statement. Everyone in St. Mary's County should hound Sheriff Hall into making a public statement about this, including within that statement as to how/why ICE has them listed as non-cooperative in the first place. Because there is a reason. ICE just does not list entities as non-cooperative if they are in fact cooperative. Let those email blasts begin!

Also, everyone should ask for a list of names of all those individuals, and the crimes that were allegedly committed, that were released from detention/jail rather than being handed over to ICE.

The problem is we do actually need a lot of this type of labor, and our kids aren't willing to do it. The answer is legal immigration, but don't just allow the white collar and highly educated and make them jump through years of hoops. Make some allowances for small business owners and those with a solid history of work ethic and get that crap done in a year. If a person has 10+ years of experience doing light construction work and no criminal history, hell yes. That's a valuable person, get them in pay them well and let them pay taxes.

Keep that up and we will be the minority

You disagree? Currently the birthrate in the US is 1.6 per woman, you need 2.1 just to maintain your population without immigration.

And in case you haven't been paying attention our highest rates of immigration are not from western European countries. So it's only a matter of time before Kinnakeet becomes a minority (probably well after our lifetimes, but still). So what I was saying is that we need widen our nets in terms of who we welcome to include larger numbers from desirable groups, because limiting ourselves to a small percentage of "super desirable" people and tacitly allowing giant hordes of completely unvetted immigrants is not the best path forward.
JFC...

Joke. "what we need to do now is guide it into the right port." "That's what she said."

I don’t have the smallest problem if the future United States isn’t white.

What I DO care is to preserve WHAT makes it America. And I mean things like freedom of expression, equal treatment under the law. A degree of caution regarding authoritarian governments. A certain can do determination for overcoming and individuality. Patriotism. I could go on. AMERICA must go on.

I have noticed with this sheriff there doesn’t seem to be the amount of reports of crime as there used to be. If he did in fact change policy to not cooperate with ICE the citizens should know this so we can choose accordingly when he comes up for reelection.

Here's a fantasy for you:

First, we invade Mexico and take control.
Next we execute the drug cartel members and associates and confiscate all their assets.
Then we throw all the current government officials out of office.
Assist the Mexican citizens in setting up an organized government of their choosing. It doesn't have to be a democracy if that's not what they want.
We use all the confiscated cartel assets to entice Mexican nationals to return to Mexico.
We leave and let the Mexicans run their country.
Finally, and of utmost importance:
BUILD THE DAMN WALL!
I've been saying for years it's alot easier to secure the southern border of Mexico than it is our southern border.;....we should seize control of Mexico and make it part of the US.

Seize Mexico? Bad idea. We have enough problems now without adding to them. We don't need to add millions of poverty stricken people to our tax burdens or Cartels to our prisons, or the culture of child molestation, and prostitution of children. We don't need more corrupt politicians owned by criminals.
Mexico needs a lot of cleaning up, but Mexicans need to do it, Not us.

Now as for our kids not wanting to to menial labor. That is a problem, but the real problem is that they do not want to do any labor.
The reason they do not want to work is because they have never had to. The only kids who know how to work today are the children of farmers.
The rest play with their cell phones or watch cartoons all day.
