I don't know the "we" refers to and I don't know Greg so I'll probably pass, but thanks. I know bdzee will have another :faint: over this.

"We" is a sort of collective group of folks, including my brother and I, that have put on a pig roast party for ..well, this year is the 30th one.

Greg is Greg Callaway..the owner of Gridiron and ride sponsor last Saturday.

Gotcha, sounds cool. Quite a long tradition!

Any Beemer riders show??

The comment about the young rider on the 250 kind of makes me leery of these kinds of rides..

Didn't notice one. There were several groups or you could have ridden alone. I did a bit of each. Some took different routes.

The very experienced rider on the vintage Harley chopper represented more an immediate threat...I'm here to tell ya. Lets run through the pre-ride checklist:

Overall Handling and Balance: None

Turn Signals: None

Turning Radius: ~ 100 feet

Front brakes: Present but unaccounted for

Rear brakes: Some.

There was an older guy on a Harley I rode behind until I got tired of it and passed him on 235. Made me nervous. Think he might have had a few at the first two stops. I liked the way the guys on the radical choppers managed to get out from our blockade at Seabreeze. Didn't complain and those extended front ends didn't seem to hamper steering in tight places much. I would have thought otherwise. Shows what I know about that stuff.

You might have noticed my 'strategic parking exercise' at every stop. The idea with that silly bike of mine is to get it pretty much maneuvered in to escape position during arrival and parking..so its only the kick starting adventure and a smooth exit left when leaving..hopefully. An exercise in minimizing the potential for embarassment in other words.

Oh..and did I mention how much my scoot hates loose gravel??

Loose gravel....acorns.... same difference. Have DR tell you about acorns some time...

Sorry I missed this trip. If you guys plan on working another run, let me know.

And I have reverse, so getting into embarrassing situations is a thing of the past....

yeah..and you have electric start..and your entire bike does not 'drop' 3"' when you turn the front wheel, and you have a neutral shift position that, unlike the one on my old junk, is not more difficult to locate than a woman's G-spot..and....

*sigh*..would that be true, I so wish. Alas, though, nothing but a 30s-vintage solo saddle on the old scoot. Anyone riding ##### has to bring their own pad.

:ohwell:

the band needed money, didn't they?

Greg paid for that. All the money riased at the event/ride went to the gal whose been fighting a bad disease for going on 19 years now. She was there and was recognized during the raffle drawing but did not speak..her father got up and thanked everyone.

That work for you? Or do we need more funny comments?
