Say a prayer for hubby

In My Opinion
I looked back at the picture to see what you where talking about with the back fender, Im far from an expert on accident reconstruction but I do notice that as far back on the road as I can see in the photo, I notice any lack of skidding by the tire. I also notice that the turn is not one that would be of concern to anyone that has ridden a bike before, and the distance from the turn make me think he was not speeding or acting the fool when he went down.
is it possible that a deer caused him to drop it?

at any rate, how it happened is of little concern at this point, all that matters is that he gets better quickly.

Paso, the body is an amazing piece of work and given the chance can recover from very dramatic trauma. Keep your chin up, I'm sure your husband and you will get through this. Many prayers to you.
Keep us posted.

The investigation should be able to tell very easily though by paint from the fender on the road and the abrasion on the fender.

The 7th picture on baynet appears to show exactly the abrasion you're talking about. Wait and see.

Paso, best wishes to you and him. It's great that we have access to great facilities, great doctors, and a way to get us there quickly if needed.

I looked more closely at the picture. The fender shouldn't have come unbolted like that from the accident itself. It is quite possible it was the cause of the accident if it came disconnected from the frame and dropped onto the rear tire. I would have thought that if that had happened though, that the tire would have spun it out completely. I have been riding bikes for 30 years, including hardtail choppers and have never seen or heard of that happening before. Let us know what the accident report claims the cause was. Good luck.

Not sure if I see what I think I see, but the rear tire appears to be flat. Could have happened as a result of the accident, but if it were low/going down/flat as he entered the turn, he would have had problems controlling the bike.

Honestly I am stunned right now..I have good friends and neighbors..the neighbors son and another neighbor found him ...(after a pedestrian found him I am told) he called home and told his mom to come get me.. they just came to the scene and he was down ...no one saw anything...anyway they came and got me and had me back on the scene before they even moved him and when they came to get me they brought a sitter for mom because they knew I could not leave her or take her in the heat..they had it all planned and got me there fast..I was happy my friend told me and not the cops coming to tell me..and I got to see him before he was flown..

Wow. That's so much to act on and so quickly. You are definitely surrounded by folks that love and care about you! :huggy:

Many well wishes for hubby, Appy. :sendingpositivethoughtsyourway:

And one report I've read said alcohol may have been a contributing factor so it will be interesting to see what the final report says.

It also appears that the kick stand is down, not sure if that could be a result of the accident or not.

Prayers to you and your family through this horrible time. :huggy:

Out of curiosity, was there a reason to post this here? You could have PM'd her if you chose to be considerate, K.

Not very nice.

...but if he was drinking, if that was a factor, that may be uncomfortable, but if it's true, it's part of the story, right?

Then start another thread. Perhaps you'll start a poll.

Why start another thread? She stayed on subject  Found out it wasn't the case and they had already moved on. But if you'd like to keep it going you should post again about it :yay:

Appy, I'll be thinking about you. :huggy:
