Why are the demolishing it? Just because they like spending money on new stadiums?

It has been unused for years, and abandoned to the point of being both hazardous and an eyesore. It's more likely easier and more cost-effective in the long run to demolish and make a brand new stadium than repair it and keep it maintained.

It was in sad shape back before the Skins left for Landover. Floors cracked/shifted with one side 4 to 5 inches higher than the other side. Metal infrastructure barely holding together due to rust/corrosion. It should have been torn down in the early 2000s.
