I picked up the 3rd grade supply list and took my daughter shopping Friday. We got all her school supplies at Target and even a few outfits. We'll do the rest of her school clothes shopping once it starts getting cooler. She has plenty of shorts/capri's and SS shirts to last a while!

We're getting supplies on Friday. We usually go clothes shopping in September :yay: No need to buy a crap load of clothes right now that are just gonna hang in the closet for another month or 2.

But wait, there's more...
I made out like a bandit at Limited Too for DQ last week ... tons of great deals on things that were adorable for great prices! :yay:

Right Where I Belong
I am already finished getting all the supplies both kids need. As for clothing, the boy had clothing from last year that he hadn't worn yet and still fit him. The girl is a different story. I had to buy her new clothes. All I have to say is I wish she would stop growing.

I adopted a kid from our backpack project at work. We supply filled backpacks for the homeless and low-income kids in DC metro area.

So this will be the first time in a looong time that I will shop for school supplies. I'll do it next week after they give me the list of items.

:huggy: Most excellent!

I took the trio to get their "critical" items (particular notebooks and folders and for girl a bookbag) two weeks ago. The boys tote so much they go through a couple of backpacks a year so I spent the cash on LL Bean for them this time. We'll see if they can handle the 50+ lbs the boys carry. I keep regular school supplies in the house and my kids wear uniforms so clothing isn't an issue. I've only got to get a few items now and they make us buy them at the school - so we're almost done.

We've done it for a few years now. We were able to get companies like Staples, etc. to fill the backpacks. This year, we decided we could do more backpacks if we got individual sponsors, like the Angel Tree program.

The first year I went to the school to help present the backpacks along with some of the others that organized the event. I cannot tell you how many of those little kids just grabbed onto me and hugged me and thanked me...for school supplies...amazing.
