I was "popular" I guess. I got in plenty of trouble. I got SDC a bunch and suspended a few times.

Yes, they make fun of her for being smart.

Sounds like Great Mills.

Maybe you should discreetly pop into school one day and and watch what's going on. If it looks like you're daughter is getting the crap-end of the stick, you will have first-hand eyewitness evidence, and then you can confront the teacher, and if that doesn't help, confront the principal, and if that doesn't help, go to the BOE.

If it looks like your daughter is provoking the response she's getting, then you can confront her about it.

There's not much you can do about the kids - unless you feel up to whipping all their parents' asses - but the teachers should not tolerate that sort of behavior, and they should be held accountable if they do.

But if they tease her for being smart, what do you think they will have to say about her mom being in class. I think that would make the situation worse.

I really wish I had some advice that I thought would help, but everything I would suggest, you have already done. Good luck, Im sorry your little girl has to go through this. :huggy:

What I don't get is if she's so smart, why doesn't she encapsulate the ability to merely ignore them or even outsmart them for that matter?

"Popular" students usually pick on smart kids because they have nothing better to do. I guess they just get off on things like that.

If they keep annoying your daughter, have your daughter talk to the principal. If that doesn't resolve anyting, tell your daughter to go Columbine on them.
